Hey, count me in - no pro, but I can work a DA as well and just in general help out...

I'm in Laguna Hills, but it's not out of the way to make a day of it. Once we figure out the details, I can try & make arrangements to be there also.
I'm sure Bruce is fast asleep, and will check his messages in the AM & realize he's a popular guy. :-D

First off the truck is a 1996 Dodge ram 3500 grey metallic with a clear coat, it was painted in 2001 + or - . All I am trying to achieve is to get it to look decent. There is some rust where when cutting the bed liner they cut too deep. If it is better I can take the truck and meet at some ones house. I am totally surprised at the response from you guys. I was only looking for advise to make it easier.

Bruce, there is nothing better than getting together with some guys with the same passion to share some tips, comraderie, and polishing! This Autogeekian level of detailing has a lot of...details to absorb, and I think we all wish we had gotten some hands-on help when we were first trying to figure this stuff out, so they are just trying to pay it forward!
Think of it as a mini Autogeek boot camp and somebody make sure to post up a good results thread!

This was a really nice thread to read. Major props to all you guys willing to lend a hand in helping Bruce to get his truck looking it's best. I often think that these kind of selfless gestures are a big part of why I still log on and read the threads here at AGO. This is a truly unique site where the members really do go pretty far out of their way to help one another.
I've had the pleasure to be involved in some similar projects where multiple members pitch in to achieve one common goal, I always go away from it having learned something new or better and it really adds a spirit to life.

Hi Bruce, Just like a said in my other post. I am willing to help out if the time allows. I am just about 20 min. from you. I live in City of Industry. Right of the 605 and 60. I think if all of the guys get together we can help you out then you would just have to only maintain the vehicle.
I will also bring supplies and product. Remember I am also not a a pro, but will call myself experienced enough to get the job done.

It's all good - like I said, maybe I can book some good karma for some "questionable" evenings as a teen with some upstanding father's daughter or such
So, who's got the best place - my garage is not really big enough for me, so a team of detailers is kinda not optimum. Who's got a good setup that's accessible?
Let's start there - with the "where" and work towards the "when" and then we can take on the "who" and "how"
I know in some forums they have gone to truly great lengths - a Fiero forum rebuilt a dying kid's Fiero - frame up - just before he died (I think)..that's some great forum member invovlment. This is just helping someone out - it's no big deal.

So you've got a decent size rig by the sounds of it. I looked for a pic online to see the body style. So would this illustrate what your truck looks like? Hmmm... I better start stretching.
By the sound of it, if we can get a few people on it we can knock it out in a day, mini boot camp style. Get it looking good, and then you can just touch it up weekly or as you're able.
