My wife put my MF towels in the dryer on high heat and with a dryer sheet. I'm not sure what to do to find out if the towels are ruined or how to fix the problem. Can you all help?

Oh my God! My wife dried my microfiber towels in a DRYER and used a dryer sheet!!!

So, what?

They're towels, not a designer suit. Do you normally dry clean your microfiber towels? What if they shrank 5% in the hot air?

Step away from the detailing supplies for at least one month. :props:

 These things are expensive and I just want to make sure they don't get ruined after only 2 months.

Yeah but good microfiber towels cost more than a designer suit, and who here wears designer suits anyway, I know I sure don't, I wear a Rupes Designer Bigfoot T shirt Made in Italy.

I've been washing and drying mine, the few that I have, for a couple of years.

I never realized that dryer sheets and heat aren't good for them until I saw this post and looked up proper care.

I just got some new ones today... guess I should take better care of them.

rewash, uses some MF detergent additive like GG MF towel care and dry minus the softener sheets.

All Fee & Clear works great and much less $$$ Been using it for years.

I believe the OP was concerned about the dryer sheet. IIRC they are not to be used when drying.

If it does make a difference, I couldn't tell with my towels. It's nothing a rewash and redry can't fix.

Fire her. She has got some nerve washing your towels... And to top it off, drying them. What is this world coming to! Women!

But seriously, one time probably won't hurt. Wash them again, as suggested, then check them against others you have that weren't washed.

Women!

The biggest indicator of damage done or not is the static in the towel. The dryer sheet removes static electricity. Just run your hand across the towel and see if you still feel it grabbing. If they still grab you're ok, if not, your wife just gave you some new engine and door jam towels.

I told her that I'm putting her on double secret probation. I said just for that, you'll have to keep washing my clothes. Just don't touch my MF['n] towels! Im the MAN

Oops instead, I should have put this :bash: because that is what she did to me next!

Re-wash, a cup of vinegar and you'll be fine.

Re-Wash like others have said...they are definately not "ruined" lol. Just tell the boss to use the lowest heat setting or tumble air dry in the future.

All F&C or a designated MF detergent are excellent choices. A little tip, maybe just my OCD (who doesn't have that on here)...a quick IPA wipedown of the dryer drum before you dry your towels also helps. You may find them to be soft"er" now...but they may be waterproof :)

I'm not wiping down my dryer drum with alcohol. There's OCD and then there's bat-crap crazy Howard Hughes OCD.

What's next? Only buying detailing supplies from Mormons? Buying a Las Vegas Hotel and throwing out all the guests just so you'll have the entire parking structure available for detailing?

Yeah, big talk. Where are you going to find another woman to put up with your nonsense?
