Hi guys. Been lurking on this sight now for some time, and i thought it was time to introduce myself. Ive been doing auto detailing for all of my adult life, and even a little before that thanks to my father. My first job out of high school was working for a dealership here in N.E Ohio. I loved everything about it , except for the money. I was getting nowhere fast with my income, so after a couple of years, i was forced to stop detailing full time, and got in with my city doing construction. Ive never stopped detailing on the side, and still remain one-hundred percent passionate about it. Even on lower end cars, ive found myself thirteen, fourteen hours deep because i wasnt happy with results of just a regular detail. One thing, and the biggest thing i found i was doing wrong is my procedures. I always wondered how you guys were busting cars out in four hours, doing four a day. After doing research, i found that every car i ever touched, i was doing a correction. That was a regular detail job in my eyes, and i could never justify how everybody was charging so little, and getting these things out the door so fast. Not to mention, the awesome Flex buffers, and the Porter Cables along with the new pads! My god! I was still using the Dewalt body grinder. And starting off with the wool pads, causing myself so much more work! I was so rapped up in my little cave for those years thinking i knew it all, i missed so much. People love my work around my area, so i thought i was the man when it came to detailing. After a lot of catching up, my passion for this art has become stronger, and i think its time to go into business for myself. I'm going to start off mobile, with a six by twelve trailer to get my name out there. After that is established hopefully within five years, im going to open up a shop, as well as put another truck and trailer on the road. If any of you are familiar with my location, their is a lot of high dollar cities that surround me, and i think the customer base is ripe for the picking. I look forward to sharing this journey with you talented gentleman and hope that through all the questions, agreements, and disagreements, we can all remember that were all here for the same thing. The love of this art that we call detailing. Until we talk again............

Welcome to AGO and good luck with the new business.

Thanks for the welcome gentleman. It's funny, I've had my eye on some of you guys and I've got to tell you. I hope I'm half as good a detailer as you. I've been thinking, are you guys familiar with any training in Ohio for detailing, and detailing business? I've found Detail King in Pitts, and another one I can't recall right now, but they wanted a grand for two days. I'm up for any schooling, but a grand for two days! Detail king was up in price as well, but I think at least there's was half a week. I've heard mixed reviews about Detail kings classes, but that was from somebody who has been detailing for some time such as myself. He said that he didnt really hear anything he didnt already know. I'm confident in what I'm doing, but I think this will help keep me up to date with new materials, and equipment, as well as methods. Never limite yourself I always say. Do you think this to be a good idea? Any ideas off the tops of your heads for keeping with the times? Thanks again Gentleman, and I'm glad do be aboard.

Welcome from another Ohioan.

As for training you may want to look into Esoteric Elite Detailer Academy. It is held by Todd Cooperider, and he does turkey know his stuff. Everything in detailing and polishing to advertising and selling yourself. I have been considering taking his class as well...

Welcome inside! Where in north east ohio are you located! I'm in Willoughby area.

Pm me we can get together for a detail project when the weather breaks

Wes, that sounds great man. I will look forward to it. I live in Mentor, so im fairly close to some of you guys. So far, the process for opening this business is going a lot slower than I though. The licenses, and the LLC, as well as the updated equipment. Hard to come up with the money. I'm not taking out a loan for this to be on the safe side so when I finally get on the road, the income I make will be able to go right back into the business. That being said, I might not be able to do anything to serious business wise this summer so there might be a little play time with the new chemicals, and equipment. Currently, I'm looking at new six by twelve trailers. Thanks for the warm welcome gentleman. I don't even feel this welcome in my own home! Wes, pm sent.
