Hello everyone
Im Parthasarathi (Parth in short). I live in Bangalore, India. Im in my final year of Medical school, soon to become a doctor.
Ive been lurking around this forum for quite sometime reading up about almost anything and everything. Detailing for me started out as a hobby after seeing how people admired a nice and shiny car. The bug bit me last october when someone commented on my car that it looked just out of the showroom even though it was 2 years old. In fact it was just out of service that day and the service people had cleaned it up well. Or atleast masked most of the defects.
Subsequently, came across some youtube videos of Mike Phillips as I googled how to do this and that. I had no clue of the word detailing back then. It was funny how I used to think "who is this guy who has so many videos on everything" - sorry Mr. Phillips no insult to you. I was really illiterate about the detailing world then.
It was when I googled your name so many posts and videos came up and I came across Autogeek. From then on I was hooked.
January 2013 I had placed my first order from Autogeek with free shipping of course
. The staff were really helpful in compiling my order and shipping it fast. God knows how many emails I kept sending and they replied to each of them. Wow.
Fast forward to June, ive atleast educated myself about the basics of detailing and had done an entire session on my car by hand. Realised a machine would ease up my job. So placed an order for a DA from the UK after much pondering due to availability of 220v machine readily from UK. Initially planned to pickup the flex 3401 but plan fell through due to budget restraints. So got myself a Kestrel DA (UK equivalent of Griots Garage 6inch model) along with basic set of pads and some other stuff like foam lance plus a pressure washer all with the budget of a flex. Still there is the itch to get the flex once I start working and save up.
Currently using a combination of 105/205 along with collinite 845 and WGDGPS 3.0. My car has become a test panel of sorts where I have applied different wax or sealant to each door plus hood, hatch and roof. Collinite is highly recommended for durability in our country and Im happy to say that even Wolfgang Deep gloss sealant is as durable and is continuing to last since March this year on my car. Have had countless days of rain and still beading is just as good as day 1.
Ive also got a very good professional detailer friend here Mr. Nirmal whose forum id is @nirmaljusdoit who is also very knowledgeable and and is always a pleasure to discuss various detailing related stuff with.
Well thats most of my detailing story till now. Hope this passion continues for years. Theres nothing better than a shiny looking car on the driveway
looking forward to contribute and become an.active part of the forum.
Regards
Partha.
