Still no winner?

Nope still no word yet. But remember this is a very important decision they have to make. I understand why it is taking so long cause I am in same situation trying to come up with name for business. It's not as easy as I thought it would be. Name of product/business is a very important step. They will get to us

Name That Tool & Win! New FLEX XFE Needs a Name!

The 1st Long Stroke Flex Polisher is unlike any Flex polisher that came before it.. And similar to how professional sports teams debut fresh new uniforms and logos as a way to symbolize a new beginning toward the future, I suggest the same for this groundbreaking new polisher.

In order to truly make the leap into the next generation and set a new standard, beginning with the release of this new polisher, I suggest that this, and every other long stroke Flex polisher that follows, be known as a FLX.

There's a bright future ahead if you're willing to set new goals and make bold changes. By changing it from Flex to FLX, along with something simple to follow those 3 letters, you give the tool a distinctive easy to remember name that will stick in people's heads..

I'm sorry but PE 14-2 150 and PE8-4 80 simply aren't names stick in most peoples heads, nor do they give an impression of what the tool can do for the vast majority of people who would be interested in buying.

Clean slate looking forward, simplified, distinctive.

FLX 15
FLX XV
FLX 15mm
FLX U15
FLX V.15
FLX LT15

My main suggestion is to rebrand it from Flex to FLX. Thank you for your consideration.

So is this contest still a thing? I'm guessing they didn't see any names that struck them as right for this product and are trying to figure out what to do?

Then I think its only fair that the top 3 or 5 names should get a free flex

But they might not like any of them...so they're not going to reward that. Maybe Nick should just pick a random participant.

Big sigh, then I guess I'll just have to make the big sacrifice and volunteer to be the random participant.

Seriously though, I think we are looking at mid Feb for the name. Isn't that when the Flex is expected to start being marketed for release?

Since it's 3pm on a Friday in Germany already, I suppose this answer will come in the next few hours?

Mike, can you please explain the work ethic of Germans on a friday afternoon? I have a feeling it's not what we have here in the US.

What is it here in the US?

Edit: I'm just trying to figure out what you mean, whether you think that because it's 3PM there they are already done for the day, or whether you think they will be making the decision because they want to get it done before the end of the work week?

My local (US) experience has been that despite the fact there are few cars on the road at 6am on friday and few people in my office when I arrive at 6:30, they all seem to be on the road at 3pm when I leave.

It was meant to suggest that the Germans would stick around to make a decision rather than kick it to Monday as I expect would happen in the good ole US.

I've only worked on one project that had coordination with a group of German designers. We regularly received information at 6pm or later German time on a Friday as part of the daily information exchange.

I dunno, I guess it depends, I've seen it both ways (here in the US), places where everybody disappears on Friday afternoon, to places where everybody works late on Friday to try and finish out the week's work.
