Nano skin yes or no??

About to order nano skin and was wondering what grade I should get and how many times can I use it? Also I am going to use iron x will it be fine on black trim like this?View attachment 25190

I typically keep Iron-X away from trim. I don't think it would damage it but just isn't necessary.

I just got the Nanoskin fine grade mitt and I love it. I have been super stocked up on clay for the last few years because I bought a bunch of em on close out. I'm kicking myself for not getting in on the "synthetic clay" bandwagon sooner. It's SO MUCH easier/faster/better than traditional clay bars. On my Dodge Ram I saw zero marring from the mitt and only light marring on softer paints.
 
Thanks that's what I am working on what year? Any tips on the ram??

What grade of a clay product does "The Baggie-test" suggest should be used?
Plan on polishing afterwards.

Hard to keep IronX away from trim...especially when very thoroughly rinsing it off the vehicle.

I mostly use the fin grade mitt I would just order that one. If the car it's really bad I use clay.
 
Iron x won't mess it up if it touches the trim I am guessing?

Ha, I didn't even realize it was a Ram in the pic! I have an '05 1500 Crew Cab. The paint is extremely hard. I was very surprised to see no marring from the Nanoskin mitt. YMMV obviously.

Iron-X won't mess up the plastic trim... Just isn't necessary IMO to treat the trim. You'll get some on there from overspray and rinsing but it won't hurt anything.
 
Love my fine nanoskin pad on a buffer. I run my buffer in my right hand and hold the spray gun with car wash soap in the left and go to town. It lathers up good from all the lubrication and I haven't seen any marring to date. I haven't picked up the clay since I got it. I have a towel also that I use around mirrors and corners where the pad doesn't reach. The nanoskin pad took one of my least favorite jobs and turned it into something quick and easy.
 
I bought the nano skin mitt fine grade thanks every body for the help and I will be finishing the ram up so look for a post!
