Nanoskin Autoscrub sponge - Color transfer?

While doing our 95 LandCruiser - Toyota White single stage paint and using the medium sponge, I noticed the sponge received some white paint transfer that will not remove itself.

Anyone else have this issue? Was I using it incorrectly? I used plenty of ONR lube.

While the paint maybe single stage it sounds more of an over spray issue cause while clay/clay substitutes are abrasive their not as abrasive as polish, compound, etc
