Nanoskin

What nanoskin do you prefer
None of 'em, actually.

I can see how clay "alternatives" might
prove to be beneficial in production
detailing environments.
But:
I wouldn't even entertain the notion of
using a rubberized pad/disc/block/sponge
anywhere near my vehicles.

agree I had a bad experience with the nanoskin.partly due to my fault as I didn't break it in correctly.since then I never bought one again.

Once broken in, as directed they work very well. I use nano-skin fine mitt. Mainly for the production detail jobs.... The car is going to get some form of correction after the nano... but even so, I haven't had any issues. Despite lasting a long time, I do change them out once they show some wear, or about 10 cars.

Keep in mind I said "production detail jobs".... The daily driver that trashed already, inside & out, and is getting detailed for the first time of it's existence.

For the higher end vehicles, that are not dd's i.e. the 2016 Stingray I just detailed, I will use Pinnacle Fine-Poly clay.
On my own DD's - Nano-skin
On my garage queen - Pinnacle Fine Poly Clay

If your cleaning a really bad vehicle will tar build up then don't count on nanoskin, only real clay bars will remove

I've used the blue sponge (fine) on my black car and my wife's white car. No problems that I could see.

How come Bob? You have to admit they're a lot faster and easier in general. My car never needs anything serious just a quick once over. I would think clay bar would be more aggressive.

I use the fine sponge, I'd love to get the mitt version or the disk version that you can stick on your DA, but very expensive. Not worth it for a weekend warrior. Love the sponge version though.

Agreed. I have not had any issues with the Blue Sponge or now the wash towel. I do have a clay bar for back-up and now I have to replace it as it's too old and never used.....I will get another Nanoskin Wash mitt as a back up....a blue one.

I just recently bought the sponges(medium and fine)and I'm liking them so far. I've only used the medium, but it made quick work of some heavy contamination on two vehichles

I used a Nanoskin Medium Disk by hand on my Black DD Lacrosse last weekend. Never again. I took all the precautions, used Britemax Shampoo in the wash bucket and still marred the heck out of my paint. M205 took care of it all, but it made for some extra time and effort. If you want it, PM me with your address and I'll send it to you. I'm back to clay unless I get a really trashed job.

I have the Nanoskin Fine mitt. Was afraid to try for almost a year, finally worked my courage up. Was careful to break-in per instructions. I wash each panel with my regular MF mitt, leave the soap, and then soak the Nanoskin mitt in soap and de-con that panel.

Can't believe I was so reluctant to try, and can't imagine ever buying more clay.
