Is this company out of Ohio? Everyday someone calls me from Ohio between 8 and 9am but will not leave a message. I bet it is this company.Looks like they take 25% just for booking the job. If this company is getting the calls in your area instead of you It's time to reevaluate your marketing

Who are you? I would like to learn more about your business. I find it intresting when someone can include a middle man and still find it profitable. If they are making the deal with the customer (the contract) and you are doing the work, then you should be a subcontractor. They should be paying you. It is their customer and all liability should fall on them. It sounds like you may be standing on a very slippery slope getting involved with these guys. I would check with your lawyer, accountant and insurance agent before you get to involved with one of these 3rd party operations.

I have no idea where they are located at, Why don't you just answer the phone and find out? I mean if your running a business you should always answer your phone when it rings even if its out of state. I have many clients that used to live out of state and moved here and kept their numbers.
If it is them that is calling you that means they have details in your area so maybe you need to reevaluate your marketing as well...
Can you be more specific on why you would NEVER do business with a company like this?
Thats really interesting when I checked for my area they were pretty close to what I already was charging.

So I will take this as a NO, you are not going to tell us who you are or the name of your business. You did 12 details for a company and you have no idea where they are located? I would not do business with this company because I don't like the way they operate. If they have a customer in my area and no actual employes to do the work then it sounds like a shady situation. If they want to subcontract work that would be fine, but that's not what they are doing. I read over their website. If It works for you than that's great but most established detailers can see right through this. Anyone remember get MAD detailing and their nationwide Groupon offer? National detail Pros isn't the first company to do this and I'm sure It won't be the last.
What you need to do is build a reputation as the best local detailer in your market. After that everything will start to fall into place, and you won't think twice about National Detail Pros

I have done one and it went just fine
I never said I did 12 of them. What is the story with the get MAD detailing?
What is wrong with how they operate? Really its pretty smart.
Building the reputation as the best local detailing takes time. Plus working with them helps do that. You are getting your name out there getting more details.

I'm sorry, It was EMD that said he did 12 of them. Google search "mad mobile detailing" Look at their reviews all over the country. They even claim to be "2011,2012,2013, National award for Mobile Auto Detailing by US Commerce Association" Go ahead Google search "US commerce association"
If you want to build a good reputation you need to stay away from operations like this. Would you be proud to tell people that you were part of MAD detailing after reading about them? For all we know National Detail Pros could be MAD detailing re-branded.

We're not MAD. That company was utilized Groupon's, we do not. If you don't want to be apart of our organization that is fine. We provide a service for many detailers.

I've recently been contacted twice. The numbers will be 801 area code for Draper/Salt Lake City.
First time it was a vague, "Can you detail in XXXXX, MO? Can you do a detail on Saturday?". Then another text asking about cost. If you reply that you can't, you get asked for your email and told that you'll get lined up with the company that the texter (Chris Worthen of Exotic Details) works for "to get you more work".
This time around it was from a different number asking about express mobile details on 5 cars...... that needed to be done between 10am and 3pm for a local large food distributor's sales team.
I got an email too, but had to politely decline. There's no way that I can run that many vehicles in that period and feel like I did good work.
It seems legit for a middleman type gig, but I'm out. I still don't understand why Chris and Vanessa don't just come out and market this thing for what it is instead of sending busy business people random text messages that suck time out of a really busy work day.

Nothing bad about them per say. But you have to charge what they do, etc. I set my own prices.

I got a text from them today, asking if I'd detail a car in XXXX... and If I could do it this Saturday... Then told me the required work, I checked their page for THAT package which he then said was not on their website... I DID however find it on their website... but he told me to just give him a price on what I'd charge... I told him (which was $50 more then their package) and that I was not available on Saturday (2 days from the text) and he just said ok we'll catch up on the next one... Follow this link and sign up if your interested.
The website says they take 0 percent or cut from you... How do they make money then?... I traced the phone number and it also goes to a Exotic Mobile Detailing Inc in Salt Lake City Utah.. When I received the text I asked if someone from Delaware called Utah for a detail, and he said "No, I guess you traced the number, I own Exotic Mobile Detailing but work for National Detail Pros".....
I'd take the added work as im just getting started, im not going to lower my prices to do it though.. And I don't see how there can be any profit or reason for doing this if I'm them/him.

They usually contact me to see if I will do a $35 mobile wash in Chicago or something, which I literally could not be much further away from in Illinois.
If you are starting out any need any business possible, its true you have nothing to lose by trying this and seeing if it is a good fit. If you are an established professional that only does specific work, probably won't work for you.

I don't think that was us that contacted you with a $35 car wash, we primarily focus on more high end detailing. None the less, we would love to work with any professional companies looking to expand and grow their business. You have nothing to lose.

If you charge $125 (lets say) they charge the customer a % over. For example your package is $145, you'll still get your $145, they get their finders fee. If they get you a detail job the customer was obviously okay with the total cost from the jump. If it's as basic as that, it seems like a win win, you get your same $$$ and they get you customers and pocket a headhunters fee. What exactly would be the down side here? And since customers are going thru them they can't even badmouth you if they think the price is too high. Because you actually show up they have no idea who you are.
It's an interesting business model for sure.

How does national detail pros work? Does the customer pay NDP and then NDP sends you a check? Please explain how NDP makes money off of other people's work

If someone contacts them about a detail in Riverside, they contact me and ask how much I charge for what the customer wants. They wait for me to tell them my price then get back to the customer. If I tell them $200, they tell the customer $225, or whatever their added charge is. NDP pay's the detailer directly I'm sure. Unless your overflowing with customers and turning people away, this seems like a great way to potentially get new business. If you don't lose any $ and it doesn't require any extra work on your part, it seems like a no brainer. But again, I'm nowhere near the point where I'm turning away potential clients
