NAVigation/Entertainment screen cleaning cloth?

I dunno I don’t usually wear makeup. Lol.
That's funny. I typically don't wear makeup either. I'm going to attach a picture of the screen. It's the only one I have. But if you look close in the upper left corner of the screen there's a fingerprint or two along with the others on the screen already.

Those two prints won't come off. No matter how much cleaner or how much you scrub they won't come off. That's why I was wondering if there was something that could almost penetrate the screen a little bit to get the oily prints off

Grab your detail brush and spray it with your diluted APC and hit that whole dash with it and then wipe clean with a microfiber.

Lol. That's a before pic. I have it back to my dad 3 months ago. Lol. It's all good. It's clean. Just 2 prints in the corner that would not come out. I'm just gonna assume they are there for good.

This reminds me of an old thread I saw where someone was cleaning the screen in a GTR and ultimately found out the spots were the anti-reflective coating being worn off. That’s the stuff that makes me really nervous messing with screens vs instrument clusters. I’ll see if I can dig up the thread.

You should see the BMW screens that come through the shop... (Coating all scratched up from people wiping them)

I didn’t know what to say at 1st... I was like, “you gotta be kidding me”lol.

Between this and the $400 dollar workvan I was just about ready to launch my phone out the window.lol.

I've run across a few where I think as somebody said the coating is actually worn off in certain heavy use spots.

Thanks for the info. I don't think it's coating coming off. I think it might have to do more with the semi permeable or osmotic nature if you will of the screen. It's like if one put baby oil on their finger everyday for a year and kept pushing preset number one over and over and over almost like a stain that's penetrated some porous film. I just thought I'd ask since the thread was somewhat related. Thanks again

•Many nav screens have a very thin
anti-static/anti-glare Coating applied
to them.

-Because of this Coating: It’s possible the
chemical make-up of the cosmetics hasn’t
penetrated into the nav-screen itself—just
“stained” the Coating film layer.

•Can’t offer a guarantee; but, Meguiars M18
Clear Plastic Detailer may clean off those spots.
-Use it on a very soft MF-Towel, trying not to
use too much pressure. As you know: The nav
screen is very scratch sensitive.

Find out from the vehicle manufacturer
if the nav screen’s Coating/film layer is
replaceable.
(IMO: Nav screens should come with
something comparable to gorilla-glass.)

Thanks a lot Bob. I value your opinions. I'll give it a shot. Call first!... I even considered it was "stained" and maybe the film is. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.
