Need a long lasting sealant

Thanks for the great responses so far. Anyone have experience with ultima paint guard? The Wolfgang 3.0 seems like a great choice from what everyone is saying.

I just got my hands on some ultima haven't got to use it but I will say the smell is potent

Very pleased with the durability of the Collinite pastewax, 476. It's on top of Chemical Guys EZ Creme glaze, if that makes a difference.

In my opinion, there are quite a few durable, quality products out there. The real issues are price and ease of use. For example, I think that the Chemical Guys product, Jetseal 109 is as good as any. It's about $15 overpriced, so why not get something else?

When you say that you need something better then DP policoat sealant what do you find lacking about the product. Just curious because I have had pretty good luck with it. The car its on gets a spray wax and a wash twice a month and it has lasted almost eight months so far in south florida.

If its my personal truck nothing I put on it is going to last more then a few months because I just can't leave it alone for that long.

A really unique (unique in its application and removal) and great looking sealant is Dr. Beaslesy's Plasmacoat. Application is super easy, if you apply it thin it just melts in to the paint and there is literally nothing to wipe off. It really does seem to bond right away with the paint. They seem to have updated the information on their website, they used to claim this product lasted years but now it just says one year plus, which seems slightly more realistic. I have this product on two cars I see a lot and it is holding up great at a little over six months.

in terms of durability, which will last longer Wolfgang 3.0 or Klasse SG?

IMHO:
FK1000P looks just as good, perhaps even better...
than WDGPS!! :xyxthumbs:

Bob

I just started using it, fk1000p is just as good as 845 which I love. Not sure yet compare to the Wolfgang.

I would use 845 ,I love the 845 ,customers are amazed to see such intense hydrophobic ,they feel as you did a good job ,when u run a little water down the hood ,the very first ,thing u see on a customer face is a smile, and it will keep them coming back

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Seslant 3.0 lasted 7 months only wife's Equinox.

I asked this same question about a week ago and after lots of reading, decided on Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant. I should get mine today or tomorrow

I'll put in another vote for 845. It's not really a sealant, but will perform just as well as most. I consistently get 6 months of protection on my vehicle.

If you start down the Collinite road, 476 or 915 are supposed to have excellent durability as well, but I have no experience with either product..

I applied 915 this year to a dark blue Honda. The car took a summer road trip to Florida (from Chicago) and it returned in tatters. I wish I paid closer attention to the time line, but I certainly did not get 6 weeks out of it. Maybe as few as 4 under those circumstances.

On my other car (beige Ford, with no such road trips) 915 got me through the entire summer. I would stay it was just starting to show a decline at 4 months.

Both parked outside full time. Washed quite often. At least once a week.

For whatever that's worth.

I'm going to put two coats of 845 on both cars this month and see how they are in late March or April.
