Need a wax that can conceal swirls, maybe an AIO?

I can't get it locally. What I want is a wax that can correct, fill and wax in one. I don't think he'll mind using a spray wax over top when it's done.

I use the orange LC CCS pads for UC. That's what I used in the pics I posted. Megs UC can be had at Target, Walmart, etc...I know you were looking for something you could easily pick up locally. Most chain auto parts stores have it too.

I used a red LC CCS pad to apply Coll 845 after the UC. Advance Auto Parts carries Collinite 845. Duragloss Aquawax people seem to love after washes and you can find that at CARQUEST.

I don't know if I would do any kind of spray wax as your sealant/wax topper. Won't get much protection and won't last. Better to do a coat of long lasting wax and then use spray wax after washes to help replenish a bit.

I saw them too. And AG only shown 501 is for fiberglass. I'm confuse!

I wonder if you do the same as me and roll up the tube as if your trying to get every bit of tooth paste while transferring it into a squeeze.
 
Thanks guys I've got tons of stuff here including collinite 846&476, PINNACLE SS II, liquid sovereign, optimum spray wax, DG 951, Meg's concentrates, etc etc Lol. Around 1000 or so worth the stuff

I think the thread went left a little bit, since your original question is the desire for a Wax that corrects/fills/protects (i.e. a 1-Step product), you want an AIO...not a compound. Then your buddy can use a spray wax for upkeep if he's not that serious about paint condition. If you want to do paint correction, then....

For UC--which is not a wax or AIO--use the Orange pad wdmaccord recommends, then follow with your Collinite on Blue/Red CCS or a Flat Black/Blue IF the paint has no haze. If the paint is still hazy from the UC, then you need to use a White/Black pad with a finishing polish (like Meguiar's Ultimate Polish; also available at Wal-Mart) before you apply the finishing wax<--this is all IF you want to do a multi-step process.

If you are going with an AIO only (Mothers Cleaner Wax, Color-X, DG #101, etc), use the Green CCS pad, it's specifically for AIO's.

Remember, if you want to do everything in one step, get the AIO. If you want a Multi-step process, then pick the compound/polish + wax.

Sorry for the late reply, just now read your PM...

If you're going to get it locally, best bet is ColorX and foam "polishing" pad.

Anytime you're using a one-step you want to try to get away with the softest pad possible to leave the nicest looking finish.

The more aggressive the pad the higher the chance of leaving haze behind in the finish from both the aggressiveness of the pad plus the abrasives in the product plus the oscillation action of a dual action polisher.

Single stage paints are a lot more forgiving than clear coats when it comes to doing one-steps and that's why you no longer find AGGRESSIVE CLEANER/WAXES on the market.

About as aggressive as you can get is Meguiar's D151 or M66 and compared to what used to be on the market these are what I would classify as

Medium Cleaning

NXT Tech Wax is not positioned as a cleaner/wax but it does have very light cleaning ability and it does fill well.

ColorX and NXT are a good combo from what I have seen and read online. Also it's available locally as well. I just used colorx on my mom's daily driver using a polishing foam pad. I followed up with M21 which is close to NXT. I did clay before I used colorx.
 
How did the color-x look? What color foam pad? I may top with Collinite since its pretty damn long lasting. I havent looked into NXT for longevity.


edited: Is there an alternative for NXT wax? Something that wont stain trim and has decent longevity.
 
For heavy oxidation and heavy swirls it didn't do much. But it did clean up the paint nicely and made the light swirls less noticeable. The car is light colored so it's a little harder to see swirls which was an advantage for me. I used a white lake country polishing pad. You could follow with collinite. You could also use meg's ultimate wax which doesn't stain trim (liquid version). It's meguiars longest lasting wax.
 
Thats all Im after. I dont want to put in heavy man hours.. Hence the AIO. And his truck is white and darker green ( 1997 f350 powerstroke )
