I'm looking into starting my own detailing service this come April and have everything I need except for my interior stuff.

I'm looking at different equipment I need and cannot decide what I need. I'm looking for mainly a good steamer or a hot water extractor. I really want to have professional results when it comes to taking out deep stains on carpet or cloth seats. Right now I just have a McCulloch 1385 steamer but its decent at best. Worked on my dad old '96 f150 that had some spots on the carpet and it really didn't do much at all. Even used Folex and agitated it in.

been looking at the vx 5000 or the MyTee HP 60. rather go the steamer route for the multi purpose uses of it but not sure if it would be any good at taking stains out of the carpet as my McCulloch

anyone have advice on these pieces of equipment or something else?

I use both the VX5000 and the Mytee 60..... Both fine pieces of equipment...

I don't have any experience with those tools, but I use a vapor clean TR5 Pro (here's a link to Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/Vapor-Clean-Stainless-Steel-Cleaner/dp/B0035J3C76/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top although it's not currently available). The company has "not-so-great" customer service, but the machine is a beast! For almost all stains I only need a basic APC and this steamer and it takes care of them all. For really soiled floor mats I'll bump it up with some degreaser, but the steamer is the key ingredient. After steaming, I dry with old MF's to pull up all the loosened dirt, works great and I've never felt like I needed anything more.

I'm hoping my McColloch can do the job it needs do, as I think I'm gonna be settling for an Aztec hot rod extractor later this week
