I have been generally happy with Meguiars Ultimate Quick Wax and Pinnacle Souveran Spray Wax. I have been reading good things about Blackfire Midnight Sun Carnauba Spray Wax and am thinking about ordering some. Anyone out there that has used any of these to compare to Blackfire. After I clay and apply a sealant I like to go over the car with a spray wax after a wash. Doesn't take long and adds protection. Thanks in advance.

I've used UQW in the past and like it but I been using HD Express this summer and like it allot better. I know its not one you've mentioned but I thought adding another possibility wouldn't hurt.

I purchased both bf and souven nd applied ds with black fire and pinnacle on ps
No noticable difference in shine nor beading
Only difference is you get more product for less money with BF spraywax.
Oh, and BF smells better
Im tempted to try out Polish angel carnauba arts spray wax and their viking spirtz

Get yourself some D156. D156 Synthetic X-Press Spray Wax is essentially the same product as Ultimate Quik Wax. You can buy a gallon of it here for $28. Much more economical! Save your UQW spray bottle so you can refill it with the gallon jug. D156 was my first professional purchase after joining AG and reading so much great stuff about it. I use it on everything, glass too! ( I think I might try it on my ice cream next.)

another excellent option is...
autogeek_2269_69170994

super easy to use and leaves a slick surface as well..

Duragloss Aquawax (AW) #951

Blackfire, Prima, and Optimum rock ... and super easy to use.

:iagree:

It's Mucho economical (2 Gallon Deal here on AG :xyxthumbs:), a breeze to use, doesn't stain trim...can use it on everything except fabric, beading is insane, and the gloss/look is other-wordly!
Haven't used the other products mentioned so far, so I can't speak to a comparison but..... I really can't imagine something "Out-Performing" it.

The only category that may be up for grabs is Longevity (on a DD that sits in the elements). I've noted D156 will last 2-3 weeks...even after "Bill" rolled through Missouri (with a week of heavy rain before it)...pretty impressive for a spray wax/sealant IMO.

I recently purchased Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer based on Loach's Excellent Review, here: http://www.autogeekonline.net/forum/product-reviews/92806-review-video-sonax-brilliant-shine-detailer.html and others claiming 2-3 MONTHS Longevity...we'll just see about that :props:

hope it helps

IMHO:
As far as spray-waxes goes---namely the ones that
actually contain a natural wax---Optimum Car Wax is:
The Real Deal.

Hi Bob. What's your opinion on D156 vs Optimum Car Wax? It's almost double the price. Is it worth it? Because I noticed that you're quite keen on Meguiar's products, but just stated that Optimum Car Wax is the one you like.

Just consider Optimum also makes one of the best coatings out there: Opti-coat. I'm sure they put the same expertise in the spray wax. Don't get me wrong Meguairs makes great stuff too but I prefer OCW to UQW/D156.

IMO:
•Determining a product's worth based on
price alone, can often be very misleading.

•D156 vs. OCW?
-They are different "types" of products.

Actually I stated it is The Real Deal...
[Meaning: Contains natural(carnauba) wax]

Yes. Whenever someone wants a recommendation for a spray wax, people start suggesting spray sealants.

I prefer a spray sealant (AW) for my color car.

If I were to try a wax, I've read nothing but positive things about Flitz speed wax in regard to ease of use and non streaking.

Viking Spritz is VERY NICE!

I used to use the UQW back in the day and it was a fine product. I actually was not a fan of Souveran Spray Wax at all.

With that said, having tried the new BlackFire Spray wax, it would be my favorite. Its much more substantial in viscosity vs those other two. It also contains carnauba (its in the title). I cannot imagine anyone who uses it would be dissapointed with it.

there is also gold class spray wax, which i think is real wax. i wonder if it comes in gallon form
