Greetings All:
Was looking to get some feedback as to what wax would work best for a green Benz with a lot of flake. Paint is in excellent condition.

Thanks,

Ray

You'll get many different opinions on this one.
Check out some of the reviews by forum members.
There are way too many good ones, all prices too. Just because it expensive doesn't mean it's the best.

Liquid- Collinite 845.
Paste- DP Max Wax.

Haven't had a chance to try the dodo past waxes I have, weather is still crappy in the Chicago area!!

Depending if u want durability or just looks. Colyn 845 is a great mix of both. I have topped 845 with souveran and s100 great wet look and durability. 845 in sept and still beading

+1 to both previous posts.

Liquid: Collinite 845
Paste: Fuzion

I agree on both. Personally I can't justify some of the more expensive waxes. Max Wax on BOGO is a fantastic deal.

Lots of flake? Duragloss #501 Marine/RV Polish. Makes the flake dance every time! :D

Hate to say this but most of the top tier brands would work. I've tried a bunch of LSPs and imo they all look great, though the application and removal process differ greatly. Part of the selection process should be the process you enjoy the most and how much work you want to expend. There are subtle visual differences from product to product though in most cases I would challenge you to tell the differences in a side by side. Here are a few winners that I've used and enjoyed. If you want to "set it and forget it" consider #845 or FK1000 - both look great and last 6-8 mos, maybe longer.

#845
FK1000

The key to getting any paint to pop is to make the surface as clear as possible and this is done by machine polishing as many of the defects as possible out of the paint.

Gloss comes from smoothness, so to make the paint as glossy as possible make the paint as smooth as possible, this comes from removing any type of above surface bonded contaminants or surface texture.

Dang, I forgot I even wrote the below article on this topic as it's not in my article list. (yet). I just Googled

how to make paint pop mike phillips

Check it out here, lots of info and pictures.

Making the Metallic Flake Pop! - Popping versus Muting

As for making paint look glossy, you can Google this,

gloss comes from smoothness mike phillips

Gloss starts first with a smooth surface...

A few of my favorite waxes/hybrid waxes...(pastes, liquids, or sprays)...for:
"darker colors with flakes"...in no particular order:

-Pinnacle Sig. Series II ("follow-ups": w/Pinnacle Crystal Mist Carnauba Detail Spray)
-Meg's M26; Meg's Ultimate Quik Wax (UQW)
-Optimum Car Wax (OCW)
-Collinite #845
-P21S/S100
-3M Show Car Wax

IMO...
Sealants, such as Wolfgang DGPS and Klasse HGSG (in conjunction with K-AIO),
are also excelent LSP's for your vehicle's type of "paint color scheme".

Hey All, appreciate all the feedback. I have been using Pinnacle Souveran Paste Wax. After doing some reading in the forums it sounds as though this wax may not be one of the better choices for the color and flake.

Not sure if this picture of the trunk can help get any further suggestions but thought I would post it anyway. Took this today, bright and sunny day, in the back yard, with an IPhone 5.
