Solvents dissolve tar.

You could always use goof off or goo gone. Just be careful because solvents dissolve paint but will take much longer to do so than tar.

Thanks. Yeah I have prep all and good off. But it's going to be a pain to clean the rims and barrels with those

Welcome to autogeek....while Tar-x/Iron-x are best suited for the job but you can always get an OTC bug, and tar remover like turtle wax brand, and some wd40, goo gone, or goof off to do the wheels, however if you are not to sure of the suggestions given then reschedule the customer, thus you do the job with best suited products while seeing how loyal in a sense they really was about having their vehicle detailed by you.

Stoners Tarminator is available at most auto stores (AutoZone, PepBoys, etc.)

Is that good for break dust

^^^Tarminator is readily available at AutoZone.

You can grab a wheel cleaner like Eacgle One A to Z for cleaning brake dust.

Virginia is a pretty big state! I have lived here my whole life. I was born 500+ miles and 8 hours from where I reside today. Mothers Foaming Wheel and tire Cleaner is tough to beat by any competition! It is found at virtually every auto part store and many hardware stores. For tar removal I actually like the Turtle Wax product. It clings very well and performs as advertised. Like the Mothers product, it is abundant at many retail outlets.
