Need help ASAP! Clear coat problem???

Working on this car. Had an aftermarket hood on it and was painted. I used an orange pad and chemical guys v36 on a porter cable 7424xp
 
It does look like clear coat failure??? But idk you think whoever painted the hood didn't put enough clear right there? I went over it with 5 passes.

Also it does have a SLIGHTLY rougher texture to it
 
This is just my guess... After 5 passes and since the hood was repainted. You exposed the CC failure.
 
That's what my fear is....just sucks because this car has 3500 miles on it, it's a 2011. Aftermarket hood I'm ASSUMING wasn't painted with enough clear on it

Looks like clear coat failure... and whoever painted it, it looks like they didn't do a very good job as I see what it looks like orange peel as well.
 
Is this something I could have really prevented? I've used the v36/orange combo 100's of times....never had any problems....or is this the painter who should have thrown down more clear....looks like there is a minimal amount of clear around there
 
Do you have a paint gauge to provide thickness numbers?
 
Here is another picture....what can I do here? It's a customers car? Never run into this problem
 
If you have a PTG, you'll see a noticeable difference between that spot and immediately neighboring areas if you struck through.
 
I don't have a paint gauge on hand no ill be investing in one after this

I don't know... is this the same area? From this picture, it just looks like tons of orange peel.
 
That's what I thought as well. I'm just in a position where I don't know what to do. It obviously wasn't there before, but its apparent that it was on the verge of surfacing either way.

IME, clear coat that is extremely thin or on the verge of strike through tends to look similar to very tiny orange peel. I could be mistaken, but that's been my observation.
