Need help choosing a drill

Looking for a powerful, reliable, and not over $150 drill for headlight restoration work. Any suggestions? Corded drill preferred as I don't like having to deal with charging batteries.
 
I think you can't go wrong with anything Makita, Milwaukee, and Dewalt. I personally chose a Milwaukee M12 li-ion hammer drill and i love it.
 
No idea what is needed for headlight work....but as far as a quality drill motor.....IMHO you can't beat a used milwaukee drill motor. I think their old 1/4" single speed drills are as good as it gets. Not as much of a fan of their newer 1/2" variable speed drills but there are still a good product. More like the old ones were impossible to kill.
 
I've had the pleasure using almost every brand of drills and other power tools in my line of work and hobbies. You could never go wrong with any of the brands mentioned above.

You could try the more compact battery drills. I personally like the larger weight of 18v/20v drills when I work on headlights. Milwaukee is probably going to be the brand that is going to have the most selections based off your price. Milwaukee makes great tools and have an awesome warranty service. Try a M18 drill out, it will tackle most jobs around the house also where a compact drill may not have the power. Most larger battery drills are pretty light these days with Li-ion.
 
Wow I must be tired, I miss read your entire post. I'd personally go with a DeWalt Corded with the side handle. Almost all corded name brand drill will have the power to throw you off a ladder. Should be in the price of $60-150, and make sure you look at the specs with rpm.

Check out the AG store for the Griot's Garage 3" polisher - $100. I use this with the megs spot and headlight kit. Its a winner every time. Plus you'll have a polisher for those tighter areas. Mike has a video of this process. You won't be disappointed.
 
Not a fan of a drill's ergonomics.

You should be able to find whatever you need for a corded drill in that price range. I'm partial to dewalts..
