Sup guys, as the title says.. I need help.

My situation: I have a fixed location at a local mall, it's outside so everything either stays in my car, or gets locked up in a Rigid Job box and chained to a pillar. So whatever extractor i get, it has to be able to fit into a typical rigid job box (up to 4' long, 2' tall x 18" wide).

I think the average sized hot water extractors like the Mytee lite, are too big to fit? Can anyone help here?

And then I've heard the smaller hot water extractors like the CG Durrmaid, are not good for long usage such as a van unless you fill with hot water which is unavailable to me. I've read that these smaller heaters cant keep up with a big job.

How important is heat? Can I get away with a mytee tempo extractor? My typical cars are daily drivers, usually with heavy sand.

Any suggestions? I'd really not like to spend more than $750, and it has to be compact enough to fit into a typical contractors job box.

Thx in advance!

Run and hide from anything Mytee. Go get an Aztec or something else.

I own a Mytee lite 2....

Steam cleaners have made hot water extractors almost extinct. Get yourself a Vapamore M100 steamer ($300) and a Bissell mini extractor.

Carpets:

- Mildly saturate with your choice of cleaner, I use P21S Total Auto Wash diluted 10:1
- Steam with Vapamore as directed.
- Use Bissell to extract whatever is left, and it shouldn't be much.

Done.

I have a mytee lite 2 and I have a mytee lite 2 2014 edition, I enjoy them both. I think they both are great machines. The new model is better then the older model. both are used daily! I also have 2 vapor system vx5000's both are used daily as well.

Yes steam will clean carpet. Yes you will still need to extract the carpet to do higher end, deep cleaning, professional level work.

Yep, totally agree. Steamers are awesome and I use mine all the time, but there is now way in the world that a steamer could replace my extractor. The types of disgusting interiors that come in my shop....no way you could clean these with just a steamer. A good carpet extractor is essential for professional level quality interior work IMO.

I have a mytee lite no problems so far, the new version is even better.:buffing:

Would it be possible to get a larger job site box? I own two mytee extractors and are well built units. All parts have numbers and are plug and play. The units are very simple to troubleshoot.Im a fan of myvaporclean product.I have a vapor clean Gaia only $900. Its very compact and has steam, 180' water injection and a vacuum. The vacuum is ridiculously powerful with excellent in handle controls.I would pay an extra $300 for the Desiderio auto model if I had the chance too.Compared to other units prices this would be awsome alternative. You get an extractor, steamer, vacuum in a compact package. The main thing in steamers are the watts it consumes. Most larger units are 1700 watts. Almost everyone offers lifetime warranty on boiler. Just a marketing tactic it's basically a stainless steel pot.

I see your point too Eddie. I've just been turned off by extractors in general. Poor quality, poor reliability, and hideously expensive. Then came my steamer and life has been great ever since. (See, I despise doing interior work to begin with, so anything that makes it more annoying is an instant "pain point").

You can also forgo an extractor and buy a rotary. A rotary and a wheel brush will make light work of floor mats especially sand. It will be a stretch to find a new quality unit for under $750.

I got my Mytee HP60 extractor used for less than my steamer cost. Yes they are expensive, but I see a lot of people recommending these steamers that are thousands of dollars also. FWIW, my extractor has broken down numerous times, but it's never been something that I couldn't fix myself easily.
Interiors, for me, have never been a fun thing to do. But at least I have a steamer and extractor, two essential tools, to make it less painful :xyxthumbs:

I agree! You do need both if your doing interiors. I mostly use my steamer unless the car is bad and really needs to be extracted.

I have one of those bissel green machine, but it seems that thing just will not heat the water for some reason. It shoots out cold water majority of the time

I was going to invest in a mytee

Then just put hot water in there.

The DA brushes are ok. I prefer this brush on a varible speed rotary. The extra weight of the Milwaukee really helps out too.I would suggest a lightly used hot water extractor off craigslist.

Extractors are basic pieces of equipment and aren't made up of much more than - heater(s), a pump, and a vacuum motor.

When and if they do break down, many things are basic items you can purchase through Grainger or somewhere similar.

I have cleaned carpets for years with and without extractors, and honestly I couldn't ever do it again without one. There are plenty of guys who choose not to use one, or believe their methods are better than extracting.

I honestly have never been able to get carpets as clean as I can with my extractor using any methods I have tried.

RATHER ADD TO POST THAN TO START NEW THREAD:
Best way to extract?
same say water only
some say water & chemical mixed
some say use fresh water only after extracting with water chemical mix
