Need help deciding on wet sanding these scratche!

since it was one of your shingles you may be able to file it under homeowners along with the roof repair...I would check with your insurance company before doing anything.

The roof would be covered subject to the homeowner's policy deductible. The automobile would be excluded under the homeowner's policy.

ok...so if the shingle hit a neighbor's car and did that damage would it be covered?

Per my previous post it would depend on negligence. If the homeowner knew he had a lousy roof and didn't fix it in a timely manner he would be considered negligent and the "neighbor's" car would be covered under the liability portion of the homeowner's policy.

If the roof was in decent shape and the high winds blew a shingle off damaging the neighbor's car the homeowner would not be considered negligent.

If you are using Tapatalk, that could be the prob. They pushed an update a few weeks back that basically replaced all the Tapatalk apps. I was using Tapatalk HD and switched to just plain Tapatalk and it fixed the photo upload issues I was having. Hope that helps you out.

Yeah I'm not using Tapatalk. Just the browser on my iPad.

Ok to answer all the insurance questions...which is not what my question was in the first place.

I'll say it, I'm being a cheap skate and want to fix this repair myself at my cars expense. I do not want to file a claim and pay $250 which is my deductible. I have spoken to my insurance company and they will cover it but do not want to go this route.

It was one shingle that blew off and I am not paying $500 for homeowners deductible for something that I can replace myself.

I don't mean any disrespect but I thought this was a car forum for sharing and teaching techniques and talking about products to fellow enthusiasts. I would like to learn and try to fix this myself. I have confidence that I can and have learned a lot from you guys and gals, that is why I asked for your opinions in the first place.
Thanks you and have a nice day.

You gotta soft through the chaff to get to the wheat

If you won't go to the effort to post pictures, you are not going to get as much help as you might

Pictures please

That makes me laugh! I have been trying.

Thanks for the pictures

Most touch-up attempts on metallic paint do not go as well as on non-metallic

Are you sure those scratches are all the way through the Clear Coat?

I might try lightly wet sanding with 2000 to remove some of the scratch, then compound, polish and leave it at that

Well I don't think all of them are all the way through. I ordered some M105 and M205 and it arrived the other day so I did just what you suggested minus the sanding just to see what would happen. Alot of them did come out and the others look alot better. I am going to mess around with it a little more before I dive all the way in with wet sanding.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks Rod

Just started the FB page, it has been interesting to put your work out there for the InterWebWorld to see

The FB page is targeted more to potential Customers, sk I don't include a lot of information about pads, compounds, technique. If you have a question about any of it PM me.

I really just started photographing my work, so my skills as a photographer are still developing

I am getting a decent camera soon, so I hope to post more soon

I am a big fan of actually showing the work with a 50/50, instead of before shots of swirls and then an "After" picture that is shot from 15 feet

Thanks Again,

Kyle
