Hey guys, just a quick question I'd like to throw out while I'm in the middle of a detail.

I am doing an interior detail on a 2007 GMC Sierra and have run into a small problem. I removed the seats, cleaned the carpet and under the carpet, behind the plastic trim, the whole 9 yards, but the finishing touch is dealing with the seats. Compressed air, vacuuming, and a lint roller took care of all of the dirt, dust, lint, etc. However, the inserts are still stained. The owner knows they are stained, but the detail seems incomplete without trying everything possible to remove the stains.

Here are the seats [image not mine, but same seats]

I tried Hot water, Folex, APC, APC+, and Stoners upholstery cleaner to no avail. Any other suggestions? I don't want to create a new stain, because from what I hear these seats are stained with sweat, hard water, and other simple liquids.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you do not have a extractor your best bet is try agitating a small section of the stain with your carpet cleaner or apc and a brush then try blotting it up

I did that with all of the aforementioned products. Agitation with a cloth, and several brushes. Since I don't have an extractor, I may have to use more water. It just sucks because the material isn't porous enough to allow water to lift the stain and be easily removed.

I see what your saying,if you have a shop vac try to agitate your cleaning solution to a foamy subs let it sit for a minute or so then try vacuuming it up, then dap the surface dry but if you don't have access to a shop vac then try to clean it best as you can and explain to the customer that is the best results we could get for now

Yeah, I think I'll do that. I used the wet/dry vac for the carpets, I just didn't want to be too aggressive with the seats. I've used the wet/dry vac for extraction purposes on a ton of details, but I was hoping there was/is a secret to cleaning those darn seats. :xyxthumbs:

Those gmc seats are notorious for tough staining. My attack on it is usually an aerosol dry foam, let it sit for a few mins gently scrub with nylon brush then extract with vac

Thank you, some of the issue may be from redepositing and not extracting the stain sufficiently. Regardless of the technique, I can still see the stain while the cleaner is working.

Maybe I should have uploaded some pictures.... that usually helps, haha.

If you put all of those chemicals on there then you've done all you can.
Your not a miracle worker.
