Don't worry about being a pain! I love helping people with this!
I don't know how much you know so I am going to explain everything regardless if you know it or not to to make it clear :xyxthumbs:
First thing, don't get yourself in trouble with the term "glaze" it could mean to take out swirls or it could mean to just make the car shine without taking swirls out. It just depends. I bought a product not expecting to take swirls out and I found out it did. Just a tip there
I understand you being excited I was/am the same way every time I do a detail!
Since you said that your FX (35 or 45?) only has light swirls you possibly could get away with just buying the 205 as 105 is pretty aggressive, actually the most aggressive out there, but this is your call. You could need it later and if you buy it with a package it will save you money in the long run.
The 7424XP is a fine choice and a 5" backing plate helps with the plate not protruding outside of your pad and hitting the paint.
Yes, 105 an 205 are polishes/compounds. They remove paint. The 105 removes more (has a rating of 12/12) and the 205 removes less (has a rating of 4/12).
When you get the pads make sure you get the FLAT pads and not the CCS pads. I, as well as many other people prefer the FLAT pads over the CCS pads..at least when using a D.A. I know the kits come with the CCS pads, but maybe customer support can switch them to Flat pads..again i'm not sure why they don't offer a kit where you can choose the color and type of pad...
Okay, now on to Menzerna. It is a brand that is somewhat similar to Meguiar's. Very much so in terms of polishes/compounds as they make great ones as well.
The 85RD is a polish that is a step down or a little bit less aggressive than 205. For most cars, the 205 should leave a nice, swirl free finish, but for some like my Honda that scratches fairly easily (also called soft paint) it needs another step to make it swirl free. The 85RD does that. Now, I don't know how hard or soft the Infinity paint is so you may or may not need 85RD. I will go and find out and get back to you on that one.
The other Menzerna product, the Power Lock is a sealant which is a type of wax I guess you can say. It is basically a synthetic wax and not natural like most paste waxes. The advantages of a sealant are that it last longer, some up to 6 months where as a wax may last 2 months. Sealants also give a deep look while a natural paste wax gives a wet look.
You can put a sealant on then wait for 12 hours and apply a wax, but it is up to you. If you were going to do that I would get DP Max Wax first, because it's a great wax and second because it's on BOGO right now. It is commonly known here at AG as the hidden gem as it is a cheap wax that performs remarkable well.
Ask any other questions you may have, I will be more than happy to answer! :buffing:
