need help quick, in the middle of a detail menzerna drying way way too fast..help

Really, pea drop sizes? Gee I was shown on AG to use like a criss cross which is substantially more.. I too have an oily finish and the glaze does not dry no matter how long I work it.

At first I use a 6" line....just once to prime the pad..you look the pad..the face is covered ..not all bunched up in 1 spot....I rotate applying the drops so whole pad is covered....

You lost me Al.... Once the pad is primed as in you use it the first time do you then just use a drop or two for each section that you do or do you put multiple drops on the pad and then do the next section ?

Once the pad is primed..you just use a few drops per section after.....when I prime the pad..I do the hood first....that way I have a larger area to spread it out...then I use 2-3 drops per section after that....

I spread it at speed 2....then once its spread out..I bump it to 5..and work it till its just about a hazy clear.....

Thanks for the expert info AL. Two questions, do you use this method with all menz products, or just SIP? Do you use speed 5 to slow down the breakdown process? I am going to use the FP this week, and this sounds like a great plan. So far all I have used is the XMT line.

Thanks in advance, Mike

i think i am going to call menzerna on monday and ask them WTF is up with their product.

Gee, mine ends up oily and hard to get off. Yes, it dusts a lot, but still nothing like your problem, and it is dry here.

I am using a festool 150 on speed 5(out of 6) its around 5400 opm.for my pads i am using the free 5.5 inch light cutting pad(orange).
Jesus! I told you not to, didn't I, and you never listen, do you?

First, start listening.

Second, you are using way too much product. Four small dots are enough to prime the pad, after that two dots per section.

Third, never change two variables at the same time. You have chnaged both tool and polish at the same time. Go back to PC and once you figured out Menzerna with it go to Menzerna with Festool.

Fourth, once you switch to Festool start with speed one in least aggressive mode with white pad like I told you. Go up only once everything is perfect on that level.

Last, but not least, start listening.

And they'll probably say WTF is up with your polishing. :o

I agree with ZoranC, too much product will only make things worse. PC on 4 w/ white pad should be enough to get started and learn how to use the product. Work it in until it gets glossy.

I find that orange cutting pads dry products up fast and that is one reason why I do not like using them. So maybe a little experimentation would yeild better results for you. Just becuase you can't get a product to work right away doesn't mean its crap. You can't think you can pick up a machine and product and expect results right away. Every pad, product, car, temp, day is different and the best detailers know how to interpret the conditions and work with them to produce the best results. So if you have an open mind with Menz. try a few different techniques and then complain to Menz if you can't get it to work.

Not just that. He is using very poweful tool on it's almost highest setting. Of course polish will be drying up quick.

on setting 5 its going to to spin just as fast as the pc.

I don't I agree with your statement, I use my Menzerna products with my Metabo rotary and I've never had any problems with any of my Menzerna products. But that's just me and please don't take this as a challenge just stating my opinion that's all, I mean no disrespect.

I agree though, it's all trial and error...oh and ever since I've started using Menzerna with my Metabo I have never had to use my orange Lake Country foam pads, to aggresive and leave's lots of micro marring. The only aggresive pads I use is when I'm doing some serioius correction (which is almost all the time for me) and for correction I use cutting wool pads.

Joy re-read ZoranC's post he speaks alot of sense. Having used Menz for more years than I care to remember, it is trial and error with this product, I have also found on a RO/PC that speed 5 is good, I usually use an orange pad.

Additionally, due to the heat where I live, I mist the pad with DP 4in1 at QD strength purely because of the heat, if you make it WET then you get into problems with Menz. The 85RD is my go to polish, I am close to throwing my Pinnacle stuff in the bin (not XMT as I have not tried that yet...)

Geez, you are something else. Why don't you try and read some posts and comprehend some of the stuff that people are trying to say. You are doing nothing but irritating people with your nonsense posts. Even I'm learning stuff by reading responses on your threads.

What an insult to ZoranC, who has been trying to help you by giving you tips. Then, tries again and even goes in steps. and you insult him by asking if he was trying to do something? You're amazing.

BTW, love you sig, you really are MR BANANA! :applause:

hum, both the pc and the festool orbit at around 5000 opm on speed 5 so i dont see his point. the only real diffrence is that the festool maintains the speed with more pressure, also the festool has a smaller orbit.
