I just recently bought a 1990 Mercury Grand Marquis. It was obviously neglected. It has a lot of metal parts, such as chrome bumpers and metal trim around the windows and door. These are probably softer metals more like aluminum I guess. Besides the bumpers the rest of the metal has no shine. They are basically dull and have like a white glaze on them. I guess from age and neglect. I have tried one metal cleaner, but it is a very long and tedious job and I am not getting the results I want. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should use? I was going to use a chrome cleaner, but not all the metal is chrome, but when cleaned should look like chrome. I am brand new to this forum, so I am hoping smeone out there could help me. Thanks

I've used nevrdull with good luck in the past. GREAT on faucets in the house too!!

Ya know, I would be guessing, but I assuem some of those are simply chrome sticker strip things? If so, maybe try a paint cleaner, polish, etc on those pieces. And i bet the one parts are a brushed aluminum?

You are probably right about the brushed aluminum. They have the feel of something like that. Any suggestions for those pieces?

Thanks everyone for all the help and advice. Do you know where I can buy nevrdull? Also is it safe on all metal including aluminum?
