Need help

Trying to do head lights with my flex with the 4 inch backing plate I can only find 3 inch sanding disk and 3inch foam pad? What should I do or can I get the same results by hand going to use

500" grit

1500 grit

2000 grit

3000 grit polish and opti lens

Are talking about using the Flex 3401 forced rotation DA? That may be too aggressive once you start sanding above 1500. Either way, if you need a custom size you can just cut down large disc/pads or buy sheets and cut them down.

If I started doing head lights for money would the porter cable be worth it and can I get a carpet cleaner attachment

Any DA is worth it and all can have the brushes put on them. AG has 4 different brush attachments for Tue traditional DA. I would just stay away from using a forced rotation machine for finish sanding, especially on plastic and near paint.
