as much as i love paint correction, i also love interior work.. call me crazy, right? Im the MAN but hey, the money is there, not many detailers push on this service in my area, and winter is coming up

By interior cleaning i mean bringing the entire interior to new or like-new condition

pet stores/vet clinic seem obvious.. but how would i go towards the higher end luxury/exotic leather cleaning?

how do you market interior cleaning (if you guys even do so :p) in your market?

Feed back please

I love doing interior work too :). The only thing I do is offer a winter and spring special. For high end cars most them are my maintenance customers so the interior is still like new. I haven't found a way to market only high end interior yet.

Thanks for the tip. Offering a winter promotion wouldnt be so bad

any others want to chime in?

What is your current process with interiors? What is your turnaround time? Do you offer multiple stages or levels of interior detailing? What about chemicals? What is your current marketing technique? What do you offer that other shops don't offer? We can chat offline if you wish to keep the above confidential.

What is your current process with interiors? Vacuum everything:
- carpets/seats= steam and APC with a carpet brush on gg6, hot water extract, set to side to dry.
- steam shoot all vents, cup holders, nooks/cranies/IIS (Isolated Interior Stain :P), followed up by apc w/brush.
- Steam leather, followed by dedicated leather cleaner.
everything is dressed/protected accordingly.. this is the Full Interior Deep Cleaning i offer

What is your turnaround time? anywhere from 4 hours (small hatch) to 8 hours (full size SUV/van)

Do you offer multiple stages or levels of interior detailing? Interior Spot Cleaning= Isolated stain is removed. Basic van n wipe= thorough vacuum, wipe dash/panels/windows. no agitation to remove stains/imperfections. Bi-annual cleaning= Usually not that bad interior, so more IIS removal and AIO cleaning on arm rests, etc. Annual cleaning=full 9 yards: vacuum, steam, hot water extract, protect

What about chemicals? APC for fabric (will change to more specific interior cleaners). Variety of dedicated leather products i.e. WG twins, Megs leather cleaner, Letherique

What is your current marketing technique? Website, business cards, fb, etc. as a general marketing tool. nothing to dedicate interior cleaning

What do you offer that other shops don't offer? interior deep cleaning. most guys around here dont like to clean interiors

there you go :xyxthumbs:

Excellent starting point, thank you. How are your prices compared to local "competitors"? Do you offer incentives by chance? I really don't like doing interiors but I'm actually good at it. I push exterior detailing because that's where my passion is, customers push interior detailing because that's where they spend most of their time. :(

Give me a couple days and I will drop some additional feedback.

I love doing interiors as well. I had some success detailing for realtors and sales people. These people have to travel to and from clients or sometimes even pick up the clients, so they love a clean and fresh smelling interior.

I sell more interior details than I do paint corrections. I'm going to try to see if I could do a fleet of vans for a local company here in the upcoming weeks. Nothing drastic just a quick vacuum and wipe down for each.

Hope that helps.

Lol irony. Most of my business is working on interiors and it is by far the most painful thing about detailing. I love when an exterior job comes up. The interior work pays off if its a return customer since its easier to work on their car.

Typically I get nice cars but now and again people ask me to work on their car that has had their kids throwing food and milk around or my personal favorite puke that has baked over the course of a week.

It was hard for me to say they needed to pay more but I have no qualms about telling them its going to cost extra these days. Interior work is literally akin to concourse details under the hood or paint corrections and pays quarter the amount you make.

People typically expect ever nook and cranny to be cleaned out. Steam has made my life really pleasant. Cuts the time down considerably.

Please send me a pm with your business contact info. I am mobile right now. Thanks.

Can you tell me what your process is for the carpet brush? Which one do you find is more effective for the seats\carpet\headliner? and do\would you use a soft bristled one on leather, depending on condition of course.

Thanks,
Eric
