I've been using Poorboy's World Natural Look for a long time and I absolutely love it! It is one of my favorite PB products and the only one of its kind in my supply.

However, we bought a Mazda CX-7 and the interior doesn't seem to play well with NL. The product works great on every car I have detailed, but this one is not so much. It streaks and spots on the black dash. I tried buffing it well with a terry cloth and that helped but did not totally eliminate the problem. Perhaps more buffing might, but I really don't want to have to put that much effort into it. That is one of the great things about NL - you just spray and wipe. Except apparently on this dash! :bash:

I want something that has a matte finish. The dash is already too reflective so nothing that leaves a shine will be acceptable. A couple of years ago I tried Meg's NXT and it was way too shiny.

Looking at products in AG I see the 1Z Einszett Cockpit Premium Interior Plastic Cleaner and the SONAX Dashboard Cleaner Matte Finish as two possibilities.

Any recommendations on these or others?

Haven't tried either of those two, but Meguiar's Natural Shine is very nice. Fairly durable as well. Here it is on the dash of our 2000 Honda Odyssey:

Or if you want a completely natural look, Quik Interior Detailer is great for that. Natural Shine and Supreme Shine have Scotchguard and anti-spotting agents, so if you get water (from rain or whatever) or glass cleaner you won't get the dreaded white spots and have to re-go over those areas with dressing. Great products that you can find locally. :xyxthumbs:

OPP is inexpensive and very matte! It is my fav for interiors. I got a gallon on sale for $26 last year.

1z leaves a great natural/matte look and goes easy and streak free. I could send samples of that and dp if you like, send a pm if so.

As far as cleaners go, I LOVE the DP interior cleaner. It isn't sticky like APC and some other products. Many folks love 1Z Cockpit Cleaner. I have some just never used it.

As for protectant, I think DP is my new favorite.

Thanks for the ideas. I forgot I have tried the Meg's Quik Interior Detailer and thought it did a good job. But I guess I never thought much of it as a protectant? After reading CEE Dog's review of Sonax I may git that a try. However, I'm still considering the 1Z. I have a couple of other 1Z products that I really like.

My recommendation is Meguiars Quick Interior Detailer. No shine at all, just a clean, natural looking finish when done. And, smells great too!

Agreed. It is the only thing I use in our cars' interiors.

I've tried a few "matte" protectants on my C6 interior and all of them leave the same un-even splotchy look. Sounds like the same problem you're having with the CX-7 and NL. The only protectant I've found to give an even, uniform look on my C6 interior is mothers protectant. Initially, it's glossy, but with a simple buff it tones it down. It has a "darkening" effect. Love this stuff!

Thanks! Must be the type of plastic Mazda uses. AARGH!

I have a CX-7 and have used NL as well. Just like you I don't like the way it comes out, I think I'll give Meg's Interior Detailer a try.

Once my next shipments come in, I will do a much bigger test. If anyone wants to send any some additional samples (of their favorites) my way I will make it a comprehensive test. I have OPP, DP, Supreme shine, 303, Cockpit premium, and PB

Jenn, I have lots pf PB Natural Look if you want a sample send me a PM.

So far I have used OPP, 1z CP, and DP interior. So far I'm liking dp alot. It's not as matte and leaves a decent shine but can be buffed for a nice matte finish that I like. Great scent aswell. 1z is great to always have in the arsenal too!
