Hi all. I have a customer who has pet pee odor in their Land Rover. A rug with the pee on it was left in the vehicle awhile during a move. They've removed the rug but the odor is hanging around. I plan on shampooing the carpet and steam cleaning the headliner. The upholstery is leather. What else can I do?

If the urine was on a rug that has been removed a good Interior detailing should be fine. However if the urine is on the actual interior of the vehicle be sure to isolate the issue treat it, do not spread the source around the vehicle. If there is urine in the carpet you may need to pickup the carpet & check the padding & floor boards for urine. I usually cut out the padding & replace it after cleaning the area that was hit.

Great info. Hope the urine has stayed with the rug. Haven't seen the car yet.

Perhaps a couple of spritzes of SoPure from CarPro after the carpet is clean and dry to help remove any lingering scent.

An enzyme based cleaner would likely be a good bet. Places like Petsmart usually carry them. Check their MDS sheet before buying to be 100% sure the product actually has enzymes and/or bacteria to remove the smell. There are stories that some items which claim to have these do not according to the MDS info.

I use this really easy and fast and one cost $15.

To be honest I rarely get the pleasure of dealing with odor removal jobs but any that I have encountered have been TOTALLY taken care of with CarPro So2Pure. It's even worked when ozone has failed.

Natures Miracle is the pet odor remover we use in the house.

Thanks for all your advice. I'm planning on trying a couple of your suggestions as well as a bomb.
