Not sure on all this. The 3000 mile rule started years ago from petro industry. Why because it depends. It depends on driving conditions(dusty-clean) Depends on oil capacity 4 quarts compared to 5, 6, 7, 8 quarts etc. The more quarts the better. Longer lasting. Warm climate compared to cold? Basically the difference in engine oil tempreture. Starting a car at 10 degrees is harder then starting it at 60 degrees. Mobile one is a good syn, I think amsoil is better qualities for luberication. I do know GM is reviewing their algorythems , with mobil one because Mobile does not load their engines in the test or under strain. Rule of thumb is 6 million revs per quart. Synt las longer about 20-30 percent. Your driving 700 miles in 6 months I would say any oil in 5w-30 -10w-30 class would work for a year 40 weight has in mineral base more parefins(wax) in oil. Shore car or something you truely like amsoil, mobil in synth. I would suggest looking at both their websights! Hope this helps.
