This is a test panel I painted to see what the colors would look like. I tried to match the color of what I imagined root beer looks like. Im debating on painting my 86 Mustang these colors. I think the color would look awesome all buffed and polished. Whats ya'lls opinions? Yay or nay? TIA

I like the color myself, it's a very warm color. I wouldn't paint anything I owned that color as I'm not into browns that much. Picking a color is a very personal decision.

If not Rootbeer Brown, what other colors are you considering for the Mustang?

Is this a daily driver or a show car or a race car?

:)

Its going to be a show car. I thought maybe the brown would stand out in a crowd

Get a cold soda or warm cup of coffee and scroll through the pages in the links below as there are hundreds of pictures of cars from SEMA this year with some amazing colors that stand out in the crowd.

Here's a 1936 Auburn Boat-tail Speedster that was a very rich, rootbeer brown metallic color. While the paint and the car were works of art, I don't think the color made it stand out in the crowd. That's just my 2 cents.

I think any color is fine as long as it's done well. But I like red for a show car or a daily driver.

I like brown. It's different and starting to become more "in-style".

I like the rootbeer color from House of Kolors, awesome color. I have seen way too many mustangs painted candy apple red so I would say go with something different.

Yeah but the root beer color doesnt look good unless its in the sun or some bright light. Any other time it just looks brown.

My friends dad has a brown 2009 Porsche Cayenne. YUK!

I think it looks horrible! Maybe it will look different on a Mustang, but I think you would want to get an idea of what it might look like if the whole car was brown.....

Well that's IMO, but we all differ :xyxthumbs:

I like someone that tries to be different. Would like to see a pick of that test panel out in direct sunlight.

Brown is making a comeback for sure, there was an article in the motoring press here in the UK that mentioned a few manufacturers who had brought out or were going to be bringing out a brown colour for their cars, Bentley and BMW were 2 that were mentioned
