Been a new member for a few days. Long enouogh to know you guys ( and gals) really know your stuff. I live in NH, own a "05" Pewter colored Silverado PU & use it for work as a contractor so I take good care of it. Been neglecting it so wanted to get it back in nice condition. I recently noticed small orange spots on the bottom panels, was told it was metal deposits from brake drums. I sanded with 2000 grit, compounded w/ 3M, polished with Meg. swirl free polish ( the sides & back of the truck) 3M glaze, & topped it off w/ Menzerna High Gloss Acrylic Shield. I also own Klass High gloss sealant & Blackfire Midnight Sun. I have yet to do the hood & roof.
Am I on the right track? I own the PC random orbit.
I'm interested in layering on a product for looks & lots of protection.
Also if I wanted to layer on a product, do I need to wash the vehicle each day I want to do this or if there's not to much dust on it, can I just spritz with a product or use a microfiber towel?
Thanks in advance for your advice. You're all doing an awesome job.

The orange spots could be "rail dust", which is a generic term for the contaminant. Your right, it can be cause by brakes, snow plows and other things. If polishing or claying doesn't work(if it comes back), then a decontaminaton wash is needed.

For layering a product just put on your sealant, wait 12-24 hour, then top it with a carnuba.

You are definitely on the right track. Once you have completed the hood and roof, apply a coat of High Gloss Sealant Glaze to the entire vehicle and then buff it off. Then apply another coat the next day. After 2 or 3 coats, you should have some great protection for several months. If you park your vehicle outside and/or you are driving it each day, you will need to wash the vehicle before you apply the new coat. Once you have a couple of coats of High Gloss Sealant Glaze, you can apply a coat of the Midnight Sun if you want even better shine.

The Spray offered has very little protection , certainly not more than a week or twos protection. I would wash, clay (that would help with some contaminents and rail dust) and then repolish. Once it is in the shape you needed, get some Klasse on their quickly. You can use the detail spray as wanted to keep the Klasse looking good after each wash.

Thank you all for your advice. Will let you know how it works out.
