Need Product Recommendation

All this talk about 205 is great, and it is by far one of the most versatile polishes out there, but.....

Keep in mind that you need to know if it's soft paint or not. Anything but soft paint and 205 is what you need to reach for, day in - day out. Soft, (and especially black) switching to DAT polishes like some of the old school Megs, Griot's, and of course Menz products makes for a nice finish.

Just make sure not to buff it till it dries out. Stop after a couple of section passes and check it with the finger wipe, even a towel wipe. At that point you can do a clean on the fly with your towel on your pad. Then add a little spritz of water to your pad and turn the speed up a half a notch (or more) then do a quick once over and it'll remove most all the polish while finishing out the working cycle. Makes for less towel wiping as well. ;)

I'll give that a shot. I assume I have soft paint and the truck is dark blue.....too bad the temp is in the 30's right now.

Just take your time when you do it and work on your technique and you will be fine. :xyxthumbs:

Brrrrrr that is cold dude. And tonight it's supposed to be below freezing here as well. (A bit higher inside Atlanta, but here it'll be a good 3°~4° cooler even if we are south of town.)

Tape it off, make a bunch of test spots and use some good light. Do 3 passes speed 4. Do 4 passes speed 4.5. Do 5 passes speed 4. All these say with Menz SIP and an orange LC pad.

Then do the same thing with a white pad. :xyxthumbs:

Megs 205 you want to start with a lesser pad and work to a higher cut pad just BECAUSE it cuts more. Hard paint it WILL (imho) finish down better, quicker, and with less work. But soft paint, whether with 205 or with a DAT compound (especially) it takes a bit more finessing. ;)
