Need some persuasion help.

Maybe I'm speaking out of school here, but you're "an amazing detailer" who's never corrected a black car?? I'd try and get a little more practice before you tackle "her husband's" Countach.

:iagree:

I'm not here to tell you what to do, you do want you want. But I am telling you that black is the most difficult color to correct, must less on an older exotic. I would estimate the cost to respray that car easily over $30,000. Think, that's all I'm asking you to do.

He's not working on black paint man! :)

So you are going to show her work... that isn't yours?

I'm guessing you want to just show her before and afters and that you are not going to claim the pics as your own work?

I agree with the poster who said

go to junkyard. buy a panel.. and show here what you can do to paint that is scratched, in bad condition etc.... give here a 20 min presentation

She will have a great understanding of what your offering and your correction abilities :xyxthumbs:

I think you're much better off doing a demo on a junk panel as opposed to showing pictures of other detailer's work. This gives you an opportunity to let the customer see how you work, see what goes into the work, and gives the client a real life representation of what can be achieved.

You know what BlackHawk, you're right. The color is what's really important here. The fact that it's an older exotic that probably 10 people on this forum are qualified to touch with a polisher isn't important. :xyxthumbs:

Well guys I got the job thanks everyone.

Btw, no I didn't tell her those pictures were mine. Thanks 2blackchevys.

Why not go to a junk yard and find a black panel from a car that's not in terrible shape. Polish up half of it and lug it around with you.
Great idea will definitley be doing this.
