Need to get started on Leather Repair and dye....

Just found that in my town in STx there are no mobile detailers that do Leather Repairs...
So my question to the guys on here that do Leather & Dye Repair ...
How did you get started?
What are some good starter kits to buy to get started?
any other comments or suggestions appreciated
