Well, I'm standing in front of the sink last night cleaning the three pads I used, and again I'm thinking how I'm wasting so much water. The cutting pads aren't too bad, I suspect because the soap doesn't absorb as much. But the polishing/finishing pads just absorb the dish soap I use and takes five minutes to get them rinsed out. Does anyone have suggestions for how to clean the pads so that I'm not spending 15 minutes with the water running to get out all the soap? Or should I not worry about getting it all out?

XMT Pad Cleaner works great for me.
Spray the pad, let it soak in and then just work the cleaner in with your fingers under water. I get all my pads clean in under 5 minutes. If they pads are heavily soiled then you might need a second application and scrubbing.

You should not use dish soap. I use DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator.
- Dissolve one scoopful (1 oz.) of DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator in 3-4 gallons of water. A scoop is included in the jar.
- Put your used foam and lambswool pads in the bucket and allow them to soak for up to 15 minutes. Use a Foam Conditioning Brush to agitate the pads while they soak.
- Rinse the pads thoroughly and lay them out to air dry.

What’s the difference between the Foam Conditioning Brush and any other brush? Is there any major difference? Am I missing something?

Both the DP pad rejuvinator and the XMT cleaner are great offerings. Just let them soak for 5-15 minutes or so then rinse clean. No problems with suds from soaps or anything like that. My recommendation would also be to wear gloves, the chemicals dry out my hands like mad.

Foam Conditioning brush has very stiff bristles, unlike any other brush out there.devst8 said:
