Need wax recommendations for new car

I would clay and polish (remove) the old wax. There may not be much on there, but I would like to remove any contaminates that may be on the car. Fresh clean canvas is always the way to get the paint to its max potential. I am a little ocd when it comes to the detailing side of things, but do it right the first time and maintenance is a breeze and follow up details will look fresh and new! :buffing:

Wash , clay, polish and then wax. Any hand polish will work. Be careful when claying because if you don't do it correctly you can actually do more damage to the surface good luck! Anything Meguiars is decent but if your open to ordering I would recommend chemical guys products here on Autogeek

Wow, thanks everyone for the suggestions and inputs. I'm intrigued by some of the other options compared to Meg's. I have read information about Collonite, Wolfgang, Blackfire, and Pinnacle. I saw the video regarding Wolfgang and was intrigued by the demo that you don't have to wait for the wax to haze.

As to ease of use and durability what would be your favs? It has been years since I have waxed a car and I would be doing it without a machine. That being said, I really don't want to have to wx the car every month. The car is garaged except for about nine hours a day Monday through Friday outside in the work parking lot.

Also, I am a bit confused to the purpose of a polish. Do I need to use a polish on a nine month old car?

Thanks for all of the help!

For Durability, Longevity and WOW factor.

Duragloss Combo topped with Collinite.

Nothing better and inexpensive compared to the other boutique items.

:buffing: Darn Spot !!

I just finished the wife's daily driver with DG 105/601 (2nd coat) and then topped with Collinite 915. It is a silver Fusion and it looks incredible. Did the 501/601 and first coat of 105/601 last weekend. Did griots waterless wash today before and it cleaned up so easy with the DG on it. Can't wait till it rains so I can see some bead!
