This looks amazing. Anyone planning to use this as a LSP?

I had seen this from the last E3 convention and was waiting for it to release on the market. Now it's available. Looks like it will do wonders for Windows and maybe even paint.

What do you guys think?

I have to test the product first on panels Before I go spray it on a customers car. I believe this product leaves a satin finish. Maybe a good product for undercarriage applications.

I read somewhere it leaves a hazy finish. Don't think it will work well where you need clarity. Forgot if it was somewhere online or on the bottle.

This would be GREAT for my phone!!! It scares the crap out of me to try it though. My question would be how durable is it? If I spray it on my $800 phone will it come off over time? I would hate to be all confident and 6 months later learn that the coating has actually worn away some and now my phone is fried. It will be an amazing product though if it does what they say it does and holds up over time!!

A Wrangler Forum member tested this on his car (undercarriage) and this is what he found.

Rustoleum - Neverwet discussion thread - Page 2 - Jeep Wrangler Forum

"Fearing that my original test was ruined because the product had not fully cured, I started over.

this time 3 coats base, and three coats top coat. 48 hours cure time was allowed at 70degrees or greater temperature for the whole time.

I gotta say this product has a serious Achilles heel - And they tell you about it in the paperwork, but I think they understate it - Soap will render it ineffective in seconds.

Another thing that is mentioned in the documentation and probably understated is abrasion. Seven light strokes with a clean scotch-brite pad visibly hurt its effectiveness.

This product is cool, but its not durable enough for me to use on my jeep. Glad I checked it out though, and I'm sure the technology will improve. But for now, if it can barely be touched, thats kind of useless."

Another one... I am not normally one to get ratty and say use the search function but these neverwet/everdry posts appear repeatedly. Sorry but, as has been pointed out numerous times before, it isn't appropriate for use as an LSP.

It is NOT clear by any means and I believe 91% acetone!!!

I saw this at Home Depot the other day, seems to good to be true. No way I use it on a car!

That's sad because the hydrophobic ability of this product is simply insane. Strange that there are so many topics about it, I read the forum several times a day and I have never seen any.

Everyone always says use the search function but since I do 100% AGO on my phone. it is quite difficult to use the search function. At times...

I find it a lot easier to just ask the question and have it answered by helpful members.

Never Wet does look promising.... Maybe I can try it on my tan DieHard boots. Lol

I tried searching if Power Lock would be possible to use on headlights. And could not find anything using AGO App.

So I just Googled it.

It wasn't designed for paint or clear coats but could be used other areas on the car like cloth seats would be great :)

Some of the user reviews have indicated that the opacity is something which also applies to fabrics, this is suggested as the reason that most of the video footage uses white fabrics. There are reports that the product can be visible on darker materials and also that it can modify the feel of the fabric.

I have no doubt it will modify the feel, it's an impermeable coating, the fabric will feel completelly different.

I would love to see a before/after shot of applying this on things of various colors to get a feel on how it will change them. Too bad it's not transparent, would be awesome on Windows and mirrors.

I bet you found out that Powerlock could be applied on headlights. I have sealed headlights and Windows before using other products and powerlock is even better since it won't stain plastics and rubbers.

Whilst this is the case with this product, it doesn't apply generically to hydrophobing agents for fabrics. In actual fact, the mark of a quality fabric treatment tends to be that the feel is not degraded.

i didnt read all of the comments, but there have been several attempts for hydrophobic products.. the issue is always durability.. any small contact ruins the "barrier"

There are a number of super hydrophobic ingredients out on the market for a formulator to use. I have seen some discussion of the user products on here before. They do work but, as above, you cant afford to touch them. Great applications, just not so much detailing.

My only thought of this and how it could be safely used was for the wheel well area. That is always a pain for me and seeing that a slight haze would probably not be too noticeable behind your wheels and tires. What do you guys think?
