New 2013 cadillac ats 3.6 black pita

I use TSR all the time on my black BMW and get very little dust. Some dust is normal, but it shouldn't be a lot. Start by priming the pad and use 1 (1 only) spray of pad conditioner or detail spray. If you getting a lot of dust:

1. Your using to much product

2. Your working it too long

3. You environment is too hot.

I'm guessing its a combo of 1 & 2. The pad shouldn't be "dry" when your done. The center may be a bit gummy, but the outside of the pad shouldn't be dry. Also, face the pad down and brush it after each section pass, dust will fall to the ground.

I am going to start working on my wife's truck this weekend. We have a new GMC Terrain ( black of course ) I will try using less product, smaller sections and not as many passes and let u guys know what happens. Maybe I will get a few more pads as well. I was only using three Orange pads so maybe they were gumming up to fast?

thunder gray chromaflair

Is that just a tri-coat or is it supposed to be a color-change paint? I seem to remember seeing them on the lot and not being impressed by the color, but that was a long time ago. I really liked the Moonstone which was black metallic with gold flake.

The chroma flair is a color change paint...

jones2416 you've received a lot of good advise so far. What DA are you using? Since your using foam pads if you want more cut try M101. It might speed up your process. It doesn't have dust issues and is about as aggressive a cutting compound that's out there.

I think your car looks great. If you want a show car finish you'll be fighting that issue until you sell it assuming its a daily driver. Guess it comes down to what your expectations are. The Fusion looks really good.

sometimes even with a little product stuff dusts i just let it fly until im done then rinse the whole car its easier

Shouldve held out for the 2014 cts. Saw it at the Ny Auto Show. It looks like an updated version of the ats.

It is a nice car but its larger than the ATS, so if you want something a bit more nimble, the ATS is your ride, the CTS takes care of you a bit more on long trips and/or large, sweeping turns. Can't wait to see the XTS replacement, I bet its going to "large and incharge"!

True, i just preferred the look of the cts front over the ats, had more substance in my opinion. The xts was at the show too it def was large and in charge lol

The CTS does have more substance and it should as it costs more money! The XTS is a nice ride, very well laid out inside and with its upcoming TT 3.6L it will give it some much needed "omphh", not that the regular engine is a slouch by any means.

Caddy has come a long way since the "Cavallac" and the Catera, they continue to refine their product with each new model, the future looks bright for Caddy!!

A "bit" is right. They're both built on the same Alpha platform, as is the new Camaro. Yes, that means that all three cars can accommodate the 7.0L V8 from the Z06.

A 427 in the ATS....look out BMW! I hope they offer the TT 3.6L in the ATS-V and leave the 427 for the CTS-V. I'm glad the 427 didn't get dropped for the C7 Z06 or Z07 as its supposed to called.
