*NEW* BLACKFIRE BlackICE Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax!

I'll be interested to see how this compares to HD Poxy in terms of looks (since they're obviously different in price and the fact that one's a paste, the other a liquid).

Anyone know of other waxes or sealants that use montan wax?

I believe that the Dodo Juice Purple Haze and Purple Haze Pro also use Montan wax as an ingredient.

Here's just one of the many, many auto-waxes...brought to us by:
OH! so many, many different car-care products manufacturers...
that contain some montan-wax:

The Turtle's: T-412R

But Bob.... you don't get a fancy wooden box, and a certificate.

$150? Damn. That better be some good wax because there's a lot of good waxes in that price range.

I'm waiting for review.

I wonder how this would compare to Meguiar's Black Wax. I've heard / seen some good things about that one.

I've got megs black wax.. pretty nice especially for the price.. for sure not anything you'd expect from a $150 wax

Just because something costs a lot doesn't equal value or efficiency.

I'd like to see just about any wax go up against Collinite 915 and win.

But still, it is blackfire, and we've come to expect great things out of that line :) Hoping Dr. Oldz reviews this wax!

I thought that Meguiar's Black Wax was an AIO?
If it is...
Then, IMO, the NEW Blackfire Hybrid Montan Sealant Wax would have to
also be an AIO...in order for a comparison/comparison-test to be fair.

NOTE TO SELF:
-Was it not too long ago that there were discussions about 'waxes' with the highest % of carnuba?

Montan wax, beeswax, candelilla wax, Japan wax...among others... Were they not deemed to be off-limits,
at least in the idealogical sense, when having the "best wax" formulations at a person's disposal?

Is Montan wax now to be embraced as an additive to a Sealant?

-Montan wax is naturally a: Dark-color...it does contain 'asphalt'.
Has this German-sourced Montan wax been color-charged while in its already dark-state;
or, has it been processed/bleached to a lighter-color...then color-charged?

-I remember having brought-up the subject matter of synthetic waxes...
Polyethylene waxes; the Fischer-Tropsch process; chemically modified; polymerized a-Olefins.

-Not saying the New Blackfire Hybrid Montan Sealant/Wax is a
synthetic-wax that fits into any of the above categories...
Just a few thoughts that, somehow (?), came to mind.

Nick,

will this wax stain/darken MF towels and applicators ?

Most waxes have montan its nothing new.

IIR P21S, Dodo, Zymol, Definitive Wax, Ibiz, HD and others all use Montan wax to some degree. From what I know its actually a step-up from carnuba wax, in that it has a reputation of being "tougher" and looking good on dark paint. It's also "rarer", as I believe it comes from some sort of fossils and is only found in CA USA and in part of Germany.

It's nothing new or radical. That being said, my guess it this new BF wax is excellent.

Is there any plans for a 3oz size of this wax in the near future? As I had my finger on the button to order, when I realized I have a new tub of BF MS I haven't even tried yet.

:iagree: a 3 oz sample pot would be great!:buffing:

That's pretty sweet. Too bad my budget for the YEAR has almost reached its limit lol. I have to save for blackfriday.
