*NEW* BLACKFIRE Crystal Coat Paint Coating!

Oh man - put a BF label on a product and my interest is piqued. Although I have a mess of BFCS and BlackICE - not sure I'm ready to part with those just yet.

Nick: on the new surface paint prep spray, is this effective enough that could be used to strip old wax after a regular wash before adding a new coat? Even if not using for the coating, just as a prep when you don't plan to polish?

I just want one week, where I don't want to buy something new from Autogeek!!!:bash::cry::surrender:

Looks like another great product! Can't wait to try it out and see some reviews!:dblthumb2::thankyousign:

Looks great, can't wait to read some initial reviews!

What "flat-weave" cloth from AG is recommended?

If only some of them would produce a wax-like look!

The durability is a bonus, but the acrylic/glass-dipped look isn't really my thing, and then there's the cost. At least the DP product and this one seem to be more in the "affordable" range.

Im debating on doing a coating or sticking with my current BF ice over fire combo. Im also unsure if I like the whole mirror look over seeing the actual color of my paint.

I wouldn't get hung up on coatings durability claims. Anybody that can go two years with a daily driver without putting a polisher to the paint (thus wiping out the coating) is not of this earth.

It is a very thin liquid with a viscosity similar to water. Apply a thin coat (cross hatch), wait a minute, then gently level any high spots.

My bad, I guess it's pretty much like other coatings in that regard, the non-sprayer bottle threw me off :o

Anyone know what is the difference in this one and PBL coating? Is one better than the other? I believe PBL is good for one year. I guess there will be a whole line of surface preps and coating refreshers. Can you use a wax over this coating like PBL? I think I have coating overload.

It's another Palm Beach offering so you're looking at the same product as PBL and DP coating...I like the DP coating, but I'm liking the BF paint prep spray instead of polish...I love coatings, and I like Palm Beach stuff so I'll def. get to this some day.

Just another thought that I feel is worth mentioning. Since all but one of Palm Beach products now have their own versions of coatings, I'm going to predict that Wolfgang will be releasing one in the near future, and I would think that might be the one they'd put a little extra "something" in...just might be worth waiting for. JMO.

Finally, a coating with real bits of panther, so you know it's good.

I had experienced coatings need to do a maintenance "boost" 3 months or more interval to keep up the performance.
Nevertheless the "sacrifice barrier" is the initial selling effect on me.
I coated my trims, wheels, plastic well and tires.
Never a fan of coating on paint yet :D

Regards

WOW. Another coating. What is that now? # 456,900? At least we got choices!

No kidding Pro:xyxthumbs:

BTW I see you've changed your avatar and sig, got bit by the Collinite bug I see, LOL! I know you were a DP guy and I can relate for sure, Collinite #476 got me through the horrible winter, car still looks great!

How cool would it be if Collinite came out with a coating!!!

I'd be willing to do a review of this if a sample was sent my way, I've used several coatings already and feel pretty confident on applying it correctly and thus giving a fair and educated review:props:

A really good coating is immune to acid, chemicals, light scratches (especially the human induced kind), and can even protect the paint from minor fender scrapes. No other LSP can do this. Its like adding another clear coat. If you leave a popsicle stick in a container of any good coating...and leave it there a few days and allowed to dry...then pull it out...it will look like a clear, hard Plexiglas lollipop. That's what's on your car. Now imagine leaving that popsicle stick in a can of wax...pull it out in a couple of days and rub it on the table and watch it smear like paint. Which would you want protecting your paint? Case closed.
