Couldnt resist it anymore, and i had to get me a new cam after i saw some good pics here at AGol.

Bought the Canon EOS400D after ive heard it was among the best cams in the price range.

So after i got the camera i went out and took almost 500 pics as i wanted to test it (different setting etc)

Im ipressed by the ease off use, and how detailed the pics gets.

So here are som shots:

Bare with me, as this is my first try with the cam

What was good and what was bad regarding these 3 pics?

For the record:
The flowers are to Meghan!! So you guys dont get the impression that i run around here and take flower pics 4 fun..... It was kinda late, so all the girls in bikinis had went home..getting back to that;)

Hey Truls, nice going on getting a great camera! Now your new addiction will start: buying lenses! Look for the "Nifty Fifty", it's 50mm f/1.8 lens. Very fast, I love mine, much better than the kit lens.

Also, install the PhotoStudio software that came with the camera. You can auto-correct a lot of your pictures as they are showing to be rather dark. And take the free online training they have on the Canon website!
 
Those pics look amazing.
I really like this one the best, really don't know why.

#1. This really isnt focused correctly.
#2. Good picture, try to use the rule of 2/3.
#3. Should of gotten up closer to the single flower.

Dan: Thanks, looking at the pics again, i agree. What do you meen by 2/3? Feel free to post pics here of what you mean.
 
Truls I think they are great! And thanks for the flower... and as for the 2/3's I am curious too and I am a photographer LOL. My mom needs to get a refund on my college tuition. Actually I think he means to get the subject out of the middle of the picture. We used to call it something different.

First one looks like the apeture was a little too wide to get the entire flower in focus.

The 2nd one looks like you need to step your shutter speed up (wider apeture if possible). If your running wide open, try to step back a little. A good rule is to take your zoom depth (say 30mm), and put a 1 over it to get a good shutter speed. So if your at 30mm, you wouldnt want to have it slower than 1/30th.

The 3rd one looks way too over contrasted to look natural. You may want to back off the contrast a little. You do have a nice smooth bookeh though.


And FYI, Cannons are NOTORIOUS for under-exposing pics (which is why yours are kind of dark).
 
Thanks, looks like I need some more reading and testing, its WAY much harder taking the good ones than i thought.

Im glad its digital, orelse the photostore would be rich, im "Clicking" around here like a madman..
 
Truls, what happened to your beautiful girls from Norway photo shoot???
 
Every time i close up on em with the camera, they/she screams "pervert" and run away.

May not be such a good ide buying a big camera, should have gotten a smaller one (harder to notice) i guess OR have a wife that wasnt so picky....

were pushing 85f here now, so there should be some beach trips.....j/k again

Sent the pictures to Sparkie over PM, Meghan said no to post them here...sorry Gary, no chicks 4 you (ill trad`em for a Metabo!!!!!)

Truls, you can't just sneak up on girls and take their pictures or they will think you are a pervert or a stalker. You have to go up to them and tell them how beautiful they are and ask them if you can take their picture. Tell them you are on a very important photo shoot for the AG forum in the US. Let them know that you are doing an important documentary on the beautiful girls of Norway. We are all counting on you Truls.
