New car: How to remove wiper outline?

I have the same issue but I think it's less of an issue of the blade/etc causing an abrasive pattern. I think it might be cheap Chinese/etc. windshield washer fluid and possibly the addition of amonia or other chemicals that are causing the issue. It just happens to follow the outline of the wipers because the blades are washing it off and the chemical/fluid is then resting on the rest of the windshield and doing it's damage.

Well, guys, after trying Bon Ami, and its not working, off to the dealership I went. Told them about the problem, and of course they never heard of it. Wet the windshield and showed them the problem. Also, told them that one of the best bets for cleaning the wiper paths off would be to clay the windshield. They took the car and about a half hour later, it came back without the wiper path. Was told claying did it.

And did it come back after a few days of using the wipers?

No, it hasn't come back. But I must tell you that when I got the car home, I gave the windshield a good cleaning and applied several coats of RainX (well dried between coatings). Have had a lot of rain in SoFL, much, much more than when the car was bought, and there is no wiper path to see... As far as I'm concerned, after failing with many solvents and some abrasives, and now seeing no path after claying (and perhaps the RainXing, too), I'm a believer.

Griot's Garage glass polish, 3" glass polishing pads, and their 3" DA did an excellent job at removing the wiper tracks from my windshield. Just don't do what I did and accidentally turn on the polisher while its face-up, freshly loaded with product, and about two feet above a freshly waxed black car...

Haha (this made me laugh) brought back memories lol

I work at a. Cad dealership take it back to them we would take care of it don't mess with it they might not take care of it

Hey, it's a brand new car with a bumper to bumper warranty. Take it back to the dealer and have them correct the problem. Problem solved.

I wouldn't be so sure, that a dealer, could correct a spot of tar on the side of your vehicle, without ruined the process, or something else on your car., They really couldn't give a rat's azz once they got your money.

Try the Pinnacle Glass restorer product first. Then clean with Sprayway Glass Cleaner, then at least give a treatment of Rain-X Then go from there. If that doesn't get R done, then tell the dealer to install new glass, cause they solely fubarred it deluxe!

And if you were smart, take the day off work, and watch them, otherwise, you might not even recognize your car when you get it back.

I had that happen with a brand new TA at a Pontiac Dealer. Six months, and 3K later, I had to sell the car, the dealer destroyed it. A $5k loss.

Thanks for all the help and comments, but I have already posted that the dealer clayed the windshield, and all is well...it worked.
