I just keep posting in this tread cos its the same car and the same detail that NEEDS to be done.
Well i did the engine (sorry no pics) and the interiour (sorry again no pics) today IN the rain, it has been raining too much here to manage to do the whole car, but late today it stoped long enough so i could find a combo that would make the Kangoo "better" than it is today...
Here is a taped of area so i could see how it turned out while testing, as you can se the paint IS bad..
As a "i just wana try it comb" i started with Menzerna APO60 and a medium cutting pad on the PC, i knew it wouldnt correct all the swirls and scratches on this car, but i was eager to try it and to see how much scratches/swirls/oxidation it could remove.. By the first look i was a little impressed by how "red" the car got after that comb, then Menzerna final inspection gave a "different" result, so with closer inspection i noticed that much of the swirls was still there (kinda knew they would) But it gave the paint a good gloss imo, and APO60 removed all the fine swirls..But as you can see its a fair amount left..
So then i went with the same pad, and Menzerna S34a Power gloss compound, I know That is a big leap, but by the amount of deep scratches and swirls that was more noticabel after the APO60 i knew i had to bring out some heavy stuff..And i was using the PC instead of rotary (it was getting late)
So i went on with that comb, and i probably used to much product or worked it to short (it was damn dark outside, and i had bad lights too) cos it got pretty hazy when i turned of the PC, and wiped off. well, i kinda didnt care, cos i was using the APO60 over that again anyway. Well lets just say that that is the combo i will be using on the rest of the car too..
The S34a gone wrong!!! Its hazy hazy
(you can see the line after the masking, <<<<<APO60 and S34a>>>>>)
Then i got a new low profile white pad and the APO60 again and went pretty quick over the hazy area and that turned out pretty well..
BEFORE:
AFTER:
So its:
-Menzerna S34a, Rotary, medium pad
-Menzerna APO60, PC or Rotary, soft pad (well maaaybe the 106FF)
Then:
-Duragøloss 501, PC, soft pad
-Duragloss 105 by hand
And then some LSP (DG111 or Wolfgang PS) Then it should be all sett for both winter and looks....
Just got to get a day without rain and not to cold, cos the EVO is in the garage with Souveran wax on it, and she wont go out in the rain...he he
