Hey everybody! I just bought a new 2013 Camaro (black on black), and have never detailed a car before in my life. I've been scrounging the forums for a few days trying to piece together what products to buy and what needs to be done, but I'm still a little fuzzy on all the details. I'm looking for recommendations on what products work well for black vehicles (wash mitts, wash concentrates, drying/buffing towels, polishes, waxes, etc), and what I need to do to have this car looking showroom beautiful. On a side note, I got suckered into buying the resistall, but since I have it, I want to make sure I don't do anything to void the warranty. Thanks in advance for all the suggestions, and I'm looking forward to being a member of the AG community!

"I got suckered into buying the resistall"...what is that?

I bought the Wolfgang- Pinnacle kit to use on our dark colored vehicles. Like it real well on the black GMC Sierra 2500. I'll try to add pic.View attachment 20311

The dealer didn't do a great job of describing what resistall actually is, but they spray something on the interior and the exterior of the car that is supposed to protect it from stains, road salt, and other defects for 7 years.

I recommend pictures, especially close up ones, and especially the areas that concern you... Idk just my opinion, either way good luck...

Ouch Honestly, polish it off the paint and APC it off your interior. Void the warranty. $5 Duragloss products would offer you miles better protection than resist all.

It's actually a Great name. Resistall, as in resist all their attempts to sell you that package.

normal washing and waxing should not void any warranty. If the did not give you any papers on the 7 year warranty then get them.
As far as keeping it show room beautiful it takes a lot of work on a daily driver.
The most important thing is having a sound washing technique. That is where the majority of people make there mistakes.
Don't rush do some research and put together some stuff.
I do two bucket wash method with grit guards. One MF mitt for the top 1/2 of the car and I have one for the bottom half. I use a home made pre soak gun.
My shampoo is chemical guys citrus wash and gloss. Great shampoo super slick and a little goes a long way.
Car-Pro has MF Madness which is the cream of the crop MF towels and wash mitts.
With a new car you can get away with washing sealing and waxing. Get a detail spray for in between waxes.
My first bit of advice. She's brand new so I would jack her up take off each tire clean and seal each rim. Do it twice a year and it will save you headaches down the road.
My list would be this for you
Chemical guys citrus wash and gloss shampoo
Chemical Guys Sticky wheel gel since they are new for weekly cleanings.
Collinite #845 use for sealant and rims
Ultima wash and wax+
Dodo juice purple haze pro wax, Chemical guys Pete's 53 or Bouncer's Vanilla Ice. (pick one.)
Car-Pro or Chemical guys for MF products.
