New car purchase this weekend Question for all?

Long story short. My wife is looking to get a new car this weekend. Since I will be doing the detailing of the car what kind of interior should she get? Leather vs cloth? Beige or light color vs black or gray interior? You guys are the experts what do you think.
Money is not an issue. I know leather is more durable but is it tedious to take care of. All opinions welcome.

Before you all ask she likes the 13 malibu ltz and the 14 ford focus titanium hatch and maybe the cruze.

Leather is definitely the way to go IMO... no worrying about having to extract the cloth every couple years or so to keep it clean. Leather can simply be wiped down regularly. It is important to keep it cleaned and conditioned though. I think leather is less tedious to have compared to cloth when you look at how much work it can be to remove a few stains in a cloth seat.

I have always liked black leather, but it shows dust all the time where lighter leather does not show dust. Lighter leather does show dirt overtime as it can look darker and grungy.

Pros and cons to everything in life, but I would say go with leather for sure and pick a color that she likes and matches the exterior color well.

But since this is already Thursday: Do you guys really want to be this unprepared, and go into a dealership this immediate weekend?
(Since money is non-issue: No need for Labor Day sales/"savings"; end-of-month events to be resourcefully "stepped around".)...
If not...And it's not like you didn't know: They'll chew you up and spit you out in a hurry, if you do!

IMHO...
These questions should have already been thoroughly discussed between you guys,
(with any credence from the input of the AGO forum members being weighed as well),
and then answered to each of the party's (#1 being your Wife) satisfaction.

:iagree: Leather to me is much easier to maintain. As I've got older I prefer the lighter colored leathers as most cars interiors are too dark to begin with. That's a highly subjective thing though.

Thanks for the input Zach, Bob, and Mike. She has been searching for the last 2 weeks test driving many cars, but when it comes to the opposite sex some make quick decisions and others can't because they want it all....lol.

I would go with the light leather. I have ivory leather in my daily driven Subaru and it looks as good as when I got it five years ago.
Since you're a member here, I'm sure you'll maintain yours just as well.

The only thing that I have noticed more on lighter colored leathers is blue jean dye transfer. While these dyes do still transfer to the darker colors, it takes a lot more for it to be noticable. I always tend to go charcoal grey or darker but again, go with what makes you both happy and coordinates well with the exterior.

Nothing wrong with a lighter-shade of leather (I've got it in my P/U)...
as long as it's cleaned/protected in a proper manner...it'll last and last.
