Hello everyone, I own a small S corporation that employs 3. We specialize in the aviation, marine, and auto industries. I have been detailing for over 10 years and have owned and operated this company for 4 years now. Our services include paint restoration, advanced polymer treatments, headlight restoration, clear bra installations, and many more. Its good to be here to share the knowledge and ideas that make this business happen. Thank you.

That's my home. I learned about your type of corporation last semester in Business Law. It's also known as a sub-chapter S yes?

Yea Sub chapter S. Has lots of tax advantages, but like everything it has its disadvantages too.

Oh yeah. Good for you though with having your own business. In this economy, you won't have to worry about losing your job (in a way) if you work for yourself.

Yea, its a great business. This economy has effected me big time. I hope we can get back on track this year.

welcome fellow tampa resident.

if you have questions on s-corp I have a great accountant that I can refer you to.

Thanks for that. I will let you know. I'm waiting to see how much I end up spending this year.

Hello, obessiveclean.
I too am from Fl., Central FL. all of my life.
I just bought a 2009 dodge challenger, SRT8, Hemi Orange, picked it up 01/01/09. Before i put any finish on it, I am investigating my options. I'm starting with a clean, no swirl car and want to keep it that way.
My wife's car is MB SLK 350, it already has a few swirls. But I want to work them out.

I've been investigating the purchase of a DA machine. For my own use. I'm the do it yourself type. Looks like I might settle for the Flex XC3401.Money is not the object here, I want to start with the best tool.
Now I need guidance on which polishes, wax etc to go with. Sounds like most folks like Menzerna products.

I've been reading a lot of the forums, and sounds like you're the first one to actually have the most experience.

Any say from you? Any info would be helpful. I have not bought anything yet, so there is still time to re-think.

Thanks

Congratulations on the new purchase. I love the SRT8. Okay, to keep pride in your ride and keep swirl marks away from your new finish, it will require regular maintenance on your equipment. It starts with your wash pad. After washing your car make sure to rinse it and thouroughly clean any dirt or dibris that might of got caught. Second, consider a wash bucket grid. These will fit any standard size 5 gallon bucket. There nice because any dirt and grime that comes from your mitt falls to the bottom of the bucket and won't be picked up when grabbing new suds.

As far as the machines your looking at. I recommend the Flex. It is very versatile and will last forever. Merzerna does in fact make some extraordinary products. However, there are many other products that are just as good if not better. My question is what are you looking for in a wax/polish/sealant? Durability, shine, ease of application? These are some things you want to consider when buying different waxes, polishes, etc.

Lastly, are you the type that buys on-line or would you rather go to the store and pick it up?

If your an on-line buyer let me know. I can point you in the right direction to answer any questions you have now and down the road.

Thanks.

Thanks for your reply(s). answeres to your ??

1. I don't mind buying On-line.
2. I don't run from a little hard work, if that's what it takes to get the results I'm after.
3. I do drive these cars on the road, so I want a super shine but also needs to be able to protect the finish.

4. At this point I've gathered TMI on waxes/polishes etc. and am some what unsure on what I really need to purchase.

I've been a computer programmer for all my life and it has conditioned me to gather to much data.

What do you (or others that are reading this) suguest?

Thanks all

To all,

I've looked at the Flex package that includes the menzerna products for the ceramic show kit. This might be good for the mercedes, but will these products be to harsh on my other cars' finishes' which are all american made auto?
Any comments?

Hey 57458w. Sorry for the delay. I have been enjoying the nice weather we have this weekend. So I have complied some great products and links that I think will aid you in your gloss treatments. There are two products I'm suggesting in the wax categories. This way you get the best of both worlds.

One is a synthetic polymer treatment for longer lasting protection and the other is a carnauba wax for deep gloss shine. Like everything in this world, both have advantages and disadvantages. The great part of the P21S paste wax is you can buff in on the Mercedes with a finishing foam pad to help hide the apparent swirls I wish you good luck and if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Interesting hearing "Rockledge"--my daughters were actually
born there when I was stationed at Patrick AFB--small world.
