New Detailer Looking For Some Guidance

I have been detailing my truck for about a year now and have decided to upgrade my arsenal of products so i can start detailing other peoples cars to make a little money during college. I already have a decent amount of product for just my truck or so i think. I already have G110 DA Polisher with 6.5 inch LCC pads. These are the products and tools i have.

LC CCS 6.5 Yellow, Red, Green, Black, White, Green. Only one of each.
Hyperdressing
Swirl-x
Ultimate Compound
Plast-X
Meguiars Clay Kit
Gold Class Wash
Invisible Glass
Meguiars 105/205
Meguiars Swirl Remover 2.0
Never Dull

I have been thinking of ordering the 5.5 inch pads but would like to know which to get.
I have attached a few pictures of the problems with the paint on my truck. Any help is appreciated and hopefully it wont be long before i am making a little money with ya'lls help.
 
I have been using the LC CCS 5.5 pads and they have done everything i have asked of them.
 
You will find real quick that what works for your truck may not work with other cars. Just be prepared to spend more money on detailing supplies.
 
I like the HydroTech 5.5 pads. I picked up 3 Cyan 4 Tangerine and 2 Crimson. For my Dodge truck I went through 2 Cyan, 3 Tangerine and 1 Crimson. If you are planning on doing more than one detail ever 3-4 days you'll want to double this as they take quite awhile to dry and you don't want to use these wet, damp, or "kinda" dry.
 
Your biggest limiting factor right now is your quantity of pads and the lack of an Orange pad.

On a typical detail I'll use 2-3 orange CCS 6.5 pads and 1-2 white CCS 6.5 pads.

I also have 4" orange flat pads for use in tighter areas with a 3" backing plate.
 
ok i will be making an order next week for my pads, i will be getting 5.5 inch Lake Country pads, should i get the CCS or the flat? I would like to get the hydrotech but they are a good bit more expensive. Or should i just go ahead and spend the extra money on them? Anything else i should add to my order to get started?

Personal preference, I trend towards flat pads...

5.5" pads are the way to go for DA Polishers, better rotation which equates to better correction ability.

Lots of new cars have small or thin shaped panels, so the smaller pads fit the panels of modern cars better so you're not buffing on a high point or a body line.

A good collection would be,

Orange Light Foam Cutting
White Polishing
Gray Finishing

More is better, whatever your budget allows.

Open cell versus closed cell, a quick test is to take your pad and try to blow air through it, if you can blow air through it, it's an open cell pad but it's difficult to blow air through it's closed cell. The idea behind the "Hydro-Tech" pad is that like air won't easily pass through it, liquids won't easily pass through it and thus will stay on the surface of the paint longer instead of seeping into the foam.

That's the theory...

Maybe order one or two and test them out and see if you prefer one over the other...
