Little Monday morning bump for the Ag crew...also wondering if there will be the basics wash mf sponge and the microfiber (final wipe new ones that just came out)

:)

yes i did see that...sad they didnt pick up the wash pad and the ultra ultra fine MFs.

It appears that some of the newer Dodo items might be available late this week or early next. Likely waiting till order is in.

that tarmalade is a very good idea. I've been using 3m glue remover but it does run down a lot!! I will have to try it.

Hey guys, I just got back in the house after washing, claying and quickly applying a layer of opt car wax.

Its 50 degree's here in New York, so i figured this was the perfect chance to try 2 new Dodo products that I just got.

the products are

- Dodo "Born to be Mild" carwash shampoo
- Dodo "Born Slippery" claybar concentrate

Both products worked incredibly well, and were better than I thought possible. Its only recently, from reading the forums, that I realized that Dodo makes some products that are worth investing in outside of there wax lineup.

First I used the "Born to be Mild" carwash shampoo. Dodo Juice claims that this shampoo is one of the most surface friendly shampoo's on the market regardless of how careless one is when mixing the dilution and the frequency of using the product.

The bottle reads - " Dodo Juice Born to be Mild is a PH-Neutral maintenance shampoo designed to cleanse the paintwork thoroughly, without stripping previously-applied wax layers. Its silky high-foam formula not only lifts dirt from the surface, but lubricates individual soil particles to help prevent swirlmarks. Dilutes 1:800 with water"

My opinion is that this product meets or surpasses Dodo's claims. Areas that stood out more than previously used products such as the most expensive from Autogeek are -

Lubricity - This is for sure the most slippery carwash soap that I have ever used. And my mainstay is Wolfgang Auto bathe.

Foaming suds - I say "foaming" because the suds that this carwash make are different than i'm used to. They last throughout the carwash, but also break up and rinse away easier than i'm used to. Which gives me the impression that I am not going to find leftover suds a day later in nooks and crannys like I have after using Optimum carwash.

Rinse off - Another area that is on par with the my WG auto bathe or better. Foaming suds break up and slide away quickly and easily without much water.

Final Finish left - I love it. No added gloss, no added beading. You are left with a clean and clear surface. Your car appears the same way it did before the wash as far as gloss, and the beading remains the same way it did as well. This is where I love this shampoo as after using a high quality wax I dont like when I use a shampoo that you can tell adds extra beading or amps up the gloss for a different look.

Next up was the Dodo Juice "Born Slippery" clay lube concentrate. The bottle reads :

"Dodo Joice Born Slippery refill dilutes to form a dedicated clay bar lubricant. Designed to minimize marring and to maximize cleaning. It is therefore very slippery and contains cleaning agents to enhance the effects of the clay. It is compatible with most leading clay bars and is economical at normal dilution."

Another product that imo, meets or surpasses Dodo's claims. Things that stood out after using this product were :

lubricity and effectiveness - The bottle is 250ml, and I followed the instructions and diluted at 10:1. This made me over 2.5 liters of claybar lube (or about 93oz's). I put it in my chemical sprayer and went to work. The lube is extremely slippery, which forced me to be carefull in holding onto the clay. I would have though that this product needs to be diluted more, and right away I questioned whether this would actually be so slippery that I would glide right over the contamination. On the first panel, i realized that was not the case. I lifted up the contamination on a white BMW. It was as effective as any lube I have used before, but felt more slippery, which is a good feeling if you are claying and dont plan to polish the car. I obviously have not used this product enough to say it for sure does this or does that, but imo, it met the description and I did not see any marring under 1000 watts of halogen lights when I was done. (but I did use the finest clay available in the US, so credit has to go to the clay formula as well).

leftover residue - WOW on this one. I must admit that the reason I sought this product out was from the reviews I saw online. I read that this lube leaves no residue and wipes off cleanly, and you can go straight to polishing without washing the car off, or an IPA wipedown (as long as you are not claying and absolute mess). The leftover solution wiped off easily. While wet, it wiped off with a lot of lubricity, but as the final residue was buffed with a towel, the slippery feeling was completely gone by the time the panel was dry. pretty amazing. This is not just a quick detail spray wrapped up and labeled as a claybar solution, Like i have seen other companys do.

Overall I am very impressed. While the products may not be the best value when first looked over, they work extremely well, and I would suggest them for use on your personal car. You might have an argument against using them for mass use in a buisness setting, but its obvious from the packaging and size of the bottles that Dodo is not targeting that market. I can say that with only using both of these products one time, I intent do use them extensively on my cars. Unless I find something I dont like with further use, but i'm not sure that will be the case. If i'm claying without polishing, there is zero doubt, that "Born Slippery" will be used everytime. If I am going to polish, I will stick to ONR.

Just an FYI,

the carwash soap was used without a foam gun. This is the first time I have done this in a while, and I must say that I felt really confident doing so with this soap. The lubricity was on a another level I will likely use this soap for the first 2 or 3 wash's after using most sealants or wax's. With that said, Wolfgang Auto Bathe still smells better and leaves my hands like I never worked a hard day in my life and like I just used hand lotion on them. The WG soap will stay, but I also plan to buy 2 more bottles of the BTBM from Dodo.

The "Born Slippery" was mixed up and used in the new 1z pump sprayer made by mercury that is available on the AG site. This pump sprayer bottle holds 1.5 liters of solution, so I was able to mix up over half the bottle or the born slippery, and it also helped me use less solution that I normally would, without the majority of it winding up on the floor doing vertical panels. The 1z sprayer mists like nothing I have before seen. The mist is so fine that it helps the product stay put on the panel for quite a while.

Now the real question, any chance we can get Autogeek to stock these products ? and is there any reason why Autogeek does not already stock these products ?

thanks, and happy new year.
