NEW! DP Paint, Wheel, & Glass Coatings + Coating Prep Polish!

Very interesting! Who makes the paint sealant?

Nick, in your opinion do u feel these are the most beginner friendly coatings?? I have been shying away from the permanent/semi-permanent coatings for fear of streaks, high spots etc. This size/value seems like a good up sell for my detailing! All are in my cart awaiting the push of a button!

Any pictures/video of the beading/sheeting of the sealant?

I was thinking the same thing. Even just in place of ipa

Next to the unbelievable cleaning abilities of Coating Prep Polish, not having to perform an IPA wipe down is arguably its second best trait. You can wipe the polish off and go right to your paint coating.

It's in the same product line - Detailer's Car Care Products.

This is undoubtedly the most user friendly paint coating available. Application is as simple as a spray on, walk away paint sealant (ie: BLACKFIRE Crystal Seal, Optimum Opti-Seal, Wolfgang Deep Gloss Liquid Seal, etc). You don't have to be a seasoned professional to use any of the DP coatings.

Any pictures/video of the beading/sheeting of the sealant?

Stay tuned - I'll have a VERY thorough write up (with pictures) following shortly. :dblthumb2:

So is this the same thing as Opti-coat? I have been considering buying Opti-coat but if they are the same thing then this looks like at better buy - lower price and more applications.

Opti-Coat is permanent. Detailer's Paint Coating is semi-permanent and allows you to apply a wax or paint sealant on top (to achieve the desired look).

Similar products, but they each have their own respective target audience.

What I'm wondering is if you could just use the paint coating on wheels if the heat tolerance is high?

Two different formulations. The wheel coating performs noticeably better on wheels.

Any reason the wheel coating would not work over plastidip?

Really considering trying this. Is the first product similar to carpro eraser?

So does this product fill as well? The paint coating that is. Does the surface need to be swirl free before application? I can put this on a DD that's 90% corrected and it will hid the rest. I'm reading the product description trying to clarify. Sorry there's so many questions :(

I would guess that the car should be polished out beforehand and that it will have minimal/no filling.

Yeah no doubt. However the product description says it fills a little. I'm curious as to what that means is all! :dblthumb2:

Plasti dip is way coarser than a finished wheel. I doubt it'd perform well. But idk

Detailer's Coating Prep Polish is an actual polish. You apply it with an applicator or with a dual action polisher. It will leave the paint squeaky clean and ready for application of a coating - no IPA or Eraser type product required.

The surface doesn't have to be 100% defect free, but it should most definitely be polished prior to applying Detailer's Paint Coating.

From the description:

Detailer’s Paint Coating is comprised of nano-glass ceramic particles and state-of-the-art cross-linking polymers. As soon as these nano-glass ceramic particles make contact with your paint, they begin to fill in light swirls, pits, and pores to make the surface perfectly smooth, preventing dirt, water, oil and anything else from adhering. Vehicles that are coated with Detailer’s Paint Coating will exhibit a highly-reflective, glass-like shine that will last up to two years!

Bah Im so tempted to try the new paint sealant, dont like being the Guinea pig though! Will post a review if I decide to pull the trigger.

I'm the product testing guinea pig around here. :dblthumb2:

Wow, between the coating prep polish, the user friendliness of the coatings, and the fact that they're designed to work with other LSPs...

I'd say it's finally time to take a dive into the coating market.

how long should the paint coating cure before applying a wax or sealant on top of it ?
