Fall is the perfect time to visit New England as dense forests explode into reds, oranges, yellows, and purples. Every September and October, leaf peepers arrive to cruise along country lanes, join outdoor adventures, or simply stroll on town greens. Being a life long Connecticuter, for me, the fall, while beautiful, and perfect weather, brings a lot of yard work clean up Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, and I do look forward to it every year, however something happened this week, that really has me depressed.

While driving down back country roads admiring the beautiful leaf colors, I heard this 'BANG' from the left front of my DD (dodge caravan). Being a fellow geek, I take great care of my vehicles, so it brought some concern. We finished our ride, as everything seemed fine. After unloading the family, I quickly wiped down the van with poor boys spray and wipe, and threw on some Megs D156, but not before finding this bad boy.

Can you see it?

Perhaps more obvious here?

I'm not really worried about bird droppings falling from the sky. This time of year, I am worried about falling CHESTNUTS! Are you kidding me? This is brutal...its like a crater in my hood!

if you come to New England, be careful...nothing you can do, but maybe stay on the highways?

That's a dinger!
Recently discovered a little one on my hood too, not that bad though:nomore:

I saw some large chestnuts that fell in the road while driving in Massachusetts this past week. They were huge. I drove under one specific tree every day last week with fingers crossed.

Sadly, the hickory nuts in north Florida, where I live, are equally as bad. My neighbor's un-garaged cars' hood looks like the surface of the moon.

i think i might try that you tube dent removal trick...hair dryer and upside down canned air...i'll video it (just in case it works)...don't have high expectations.

I have a 100 year old walnut tree in my backyard that drops bombs every year

Sorry to hear about this and worse see the result of that falling nut but if the YouTube trick doesn't work I'm sure you'll be calling your local Dent Wizard, keep us posted!

Yipes!

Like being in Hawaii and seeing the signs warning about NOT parking under coconut palms.

Gotta love New England's seasons and all the misery they could bring hahaha. I'm a little further north but its the same. as relaxing as it could be to hit the back roads it could easily get nerve racking when you see things falling or hear thing bouncing off of your vehicle during the fall or winter.
